Hey does anyone have a picture of a SJ that has black paint and also has turfed rails....I have just got a wamiltons turf kit and i was wondering if it is worth turfing the rails.

I would never turf rails again just turf the top where you need it.

I'm with you. Way too many chances of it coming off. For me its sliding it in and out of a pickup truck, as most people know 2 SJ's don't exactly fit in side by side in a pickup. A little rail rubbing going on!

it stays on great if you put on a coat of glue , and let it dry COMPLETELY and then put on another coat of glue let dry and install.

I think they look so much better turfed

Black ski with black turf looks great if you ask me !

never seen it a problem so long as the holes from the OE rails are filled....

hell yeah... i sand the hull with 80 grit, clean well, fill in the holes and then i put two coats on the ski and 3 on the turf - let dry in between coats. lay the turf with a heat gun and rubber mallot. cut the bottom with a razor at a slight angle. works great.

I did my buddies Ultra 150 like that two years ago... not one part is pulling off.

Thanks for the reply's guys that picture was awesome.... just what i needed :) I think im going to go ahead and turf the rails, I think it will look sick on my black SJ
