How do I Turf lighten stock chinpad

is the wdk chinpad a lot lighter than stock.

is there any reason to do this or should i just stick with getting the wdk chinpad for 155


if i can do it with oem what are the steps

sand and contact cement and heat the turf to form it.


the stock pad is pretty weak and usually gets ripped off. the WDK pad can take a heavy beating i can stand on mine and it doesn't flex one bit.

Put 2 screws into the pole at the front of the pole pad.
Call me crazy, but a hard fiberglass shell w/ 1 layer of turf on it can still hurt.

My wdk one is really beefy and is lighter than the soaked stock one it replaced

i guess this is as good a place to ask as any..im running an oem pad recovered with an ap designs cover...the foam is soaked..what can i use for foam to replace the stock foam and still use my ap designs cover and still have it fit right??..25mm HT underpadding??

Im using my stock one but took out the foam and turfed it. Whatever u do get rid of the stock foam it weighs a good 5 pounds cause of water.

I did the same before Sausages took over the ski. I'm sure that pad will last for a while. Put some self tapping screws into the sides of the RN pole.

i put two coats of contact cement on the plastic and three coats on the turf (letting dry in between). has not pealed at all.

Super glue the edge also mine has been on for 5 years now with no problems.

Used the stocker plastic piece as a mold and fabbed one up out of fiberglass. Made it a bit smaller around the sides and back and then turfed it.......no more water logged foam pad!
