Stupid O.S. Yamaha question?

First off this site is the best.Im new to skis and I'm 58 years old. I love my blaster, picked up a SNSJ , got her running , it's to much for me. I would like to put the pipe from it on my blaster .Will a stock exhaust from a 701 fit on a 650? Planning on using blaster exhaust on SJ 650 and put the Protec BDP on blaster , and what about jetting? Also the rubber filler hose from fuel cap to tank is soft and seems thin where the hose goes over water box is this dangerous?I could ask more questions but I'm stopping for now . Thank best ski forum there is.thanks Wayne central Texas

Sj pipe aims forward. You would need to cut the stinger and rotate 90°ish if it's the protec pipe I'm thinking because I did the reverse job to fit it on a sj. Welding the pipe bacj will be a tig weld becuase the material is cast aluminum or aluminum depending in which pipe you have. No picture so im assuming its the same ir close to what i had. the stock pipe should fit in either hull. Just different hoses that will need to be made. And carbs will need to be rejetted. Stock jetting for the square nose will be easy. The blaster with the pipe will be something a bit different. Probably have to go up a jet size for more fuel and max performance

That's awesome. I'm 45 and hope to be still riding at your age.

If you call or email Protec they can give you the jetting specs for that pipe. Matter of fact, I think I have the jetting specs written down somewhere in my shop. I will check later this morning.

Stock 701 blaster exhaust will fit the SN 650 motor. The bolt pattern on the cylinder is the same. The ports and water jackets do not line up exactly but it will work. Make sure to use a new 650 exhaust gasket and clean everything well to get a good seal.

Do you have the sgl or dual carb blaster? We have the jet kits for both the 650 SN and the piped blaster.

I am a JetManiac fanboy...because he has ALWAYS been right there for me and my buds. Trust the man with the knowledge my friend, and I too hope I am still capable of running my SuperJet at 58. I think I should be thankful to still be walking though with the way things have been going for me this year...and I'm 37! I knew when I hit the big 2 0 it meant 2 0-ld! I also knew that I should have retired when I completed high school but day to day life wouldn't allow it lol.

Thanks for the reply sorry about the lag time in mine .Was called in to work. I'll call Protec and ask for the info . I'm still curious about my gas filler hose laying on my water box and how soft and thin it is , I don't think it's a stock unit none of the pics on the web look like mine.

Thanks for your reply , both skis are single carb . The exhaust gasket was replaced on the SJ a couples weeks ago noticed then that things didn't line up prefect I'm going to call Protec I think my stainless pipe was really made for a blaster and the 701 motor .
