New to the forum... I have a 96 dual carb with the protec pipe and head, worx ride plate and intake grate that I bought a few months ago in perfect condition.. I also have a 94 that my dad had and now I have that he bought 18-19 years ago. It has a 61x/61x with B pipe limited and intake grate with original top end. Just painted it and added new turf. It is in desperate need of some motor work. I am wondering what is best for a surf set up. I would like more power and snap and wanted some thoughts on a Jetmaniac BB. Either the 771 kit or the 62t/61x complete set up. I surf point loma so need decent range to get out to the surf. Have a budget of about 2k. Thanks

Agreed, used bigbore with a set of 38's. Great power for surf that won't drink too much fuel.

Pretty hard to beat the Jetmaniac/Blue packages. Even brand new they are a great value and there's usually a few used ones kicking around at any given time.

I got the Jetmaniac 735 kit with the custom port work. I have dual 46s on my ski. It rips ridiculous in the surf....I just need to re-jet down low!

The OP mentioned fuel economy and I'm curious too; did you always run the 46's or did you start out with 38's and then upgrade?

I run 38's on my ported 760 and have always wondered how much more fuel the 46's would drink vs how much more power it would have.

I never had 38's so I can't give an honest comparison. I MIGHT have only burned 5 gallons so far on this motor. Give me some more seat time and I'll let you guys know how "good" it is on fuel, lol.

46's tend to be on the thirsty side but ya need fuel for the air for the power. EDIT: Wouldn't hurt to talk to CPT Nuclear6 on here about options. That 61X can be a potent motor with single 46/48 on it

I'm looking at a 735 jet maniac with dual 38s. Can I use my 61x electrics with it? What else is involved in installing it?

Yes, you can still use the 61x electronics. That's what I have, as I used to have a full 61x set up. Not much else involved with installing it, although getting the cylinders over the pistons with the sleeve mods is a 2 person job minimum!

like BMW said, you can swap all your accessories directly over to JM motor

Im running BB 781 with 61X electronics... I had 62T but i heard that flywheel weighs more so i swapped out.
