Donno about the pistons, but usually i stay away from WSM parts.
Why dont you look at the ProX piston kits from Jetmaniac, i think they are 89usd pr piston kit (for a SJ, guess its the same for kwak)?

There are 1.0 1.5 and 2mm ART complete kits on ebay right now for 140 shipped for both piston sets. I just bought 2 sets. Id go OEM or wiseco, Prox being an oem equivalent.

I have read quite a few negative reveiws about SBT and WSM pistons. I know SBT cut a head down on a rebuild I got, and it refuses to push over 120 psi with the head on it, stick with the names riders use and you should be good.

Got wsm piston in my 1200 just to try... So far no issues...have wiescos in my blaster a lot more money, after same amount of hrs couldn't tell that wsm had any more wear or fatigue....if you can get wsm's cheap go for it

The WSM Platinum pistons use OEM style clips, I have hundreds of these in engines without one single piston related failure, not sure how many engines the guys responding to this thread build a year but I average two top end rebuilds a week here.

Relevance to WSM piston kits in a 300/440/550 application is what?

ok ok, Well im not After the WSM ones specifically. Basically after 76.25 top end kit for my 550sx reed motor. Any good reliable value for money kits i'd be happy with. I'm in Australia and i'm not sure where to look for the kits apart from ebay in the US.

If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be really appreciated

Thx

My bad, I automatically assume everything is for a yamaha engine on here. Apologize yet again.

Still gonna say dont get sbt or wsm parts if it can be avoided. Its like going to kragen and getting a chinese piston kit for your car. Not worth the time to throw in parts that are known lower quality.

Pretty much eveyr low dollar piston kit on ebay is going to be wsm, that should tell you something. They could last 10 minutes, or 10 years, but at 7k rpms, do you like having bottom dollar engine internals?

Like I said hundreds of these in operation in engines in the field, zero piston related comebacks, this has been going on for 12 years now, think what you want and buy what you want, I have my proof already.

I use the platinum pistons, I had one Seadoo 800 that I rebuilt, that the customer ran out of oil, the Platinum piston that was in it just had the coating worn off, the cylinder was screwed but the piston came out unscathed, that one made a believer out of me on Platinum pistons.i
