ok so not to long ago my start stop switch stopped working, The start button works but the stop button and the lanyard killswitch did nothing, So I ordered a new one and after putting in a new oem it was fine.....Untill now, Yesterday I went out and it was working fine for an hour or so then just stopped working again....., Same issue starter works but no killswitch or stop button!.... Is there something else that could cause this? I really dont want to have to send it back and wait another month for another one.......

check your plugs coming out of the electrical box. Also check where the wires go through the rubber grommet into the electrical box, wiggle them, you may have one broken right where it goes in. Also, on the plugs, be sure the contacts are clean and you have dielectric grease on them.

Yes you can disassemble the new start stop switches and shoot them full of dielectric grease, then coat the outside of the lanyard switch with clear silicone, let dry and reassemble, the Yamaha start stop switch is crappy design, the spring inside the lanyard portion of the switch is not stainless, water gets in and the spring rusts then fails, I have rebuilt , repaired and replaced many of these, it never fails that one goes out at damn near every freeride I have ever been to.

Sounds like he recently replaced it and now it dead, this leads me to say it not the switch. Try This, swap the wires and see if the stop button will start the ski. If so, then you have a problem from your plugs back to the electrical box.
x2. I doubt the new s/s/s is bad, they usually last for years.

And when you install the new switch you have to unplug and install. when doing this you may get a somewhat clean connection at the plugs for a while which tells you "Yeah, the switch was bad", when it really isnt.
This is exactly what happend!, tested my old switch and its still good! wasted cash and a lesson learned i guess.
I had a mate wriggle the white start stop switch wire while I held the multi meter in the plug and it was intermitent so im going to assume that its the culprit, Im going to put a set of bullet connectors on there and hopefully thats the last of it!
Well I went for a ride today and Guess what happened.......
Im a little stumped now, The stop wires from the switch have new bullet connector on them, I opened the ebox and the connections are solid inside but it still doesnt work!
the black goes to a ground in the ebox and the white wire goes to the epic not much to goes wrong but something is.....

Get a power probe and test the switch. Could be the epic so if you test the switch and know it's working then you can check the start relay and so on. The right Tools save time and money.

So the one side of the kill switch is to ground other side is to the white wire on the epic right?

Did you check where the wires go through the grommet into the elec box? I mentioned this also. The rubber will hold connection and then it looses connection... Just grab it close and wiggle, check the tension. try other wires to get a feel. I chased issues for a while until one day I happened to touch the wire right by the grommet and it was "floppy". Replaced that section with new, and all problems went away.

Yep, I checked those wires, disconnected them , cleaned them and still no go, but replacing the ebox section might be my next move as this is starting to get old fast!

Not talking about the plug. Talking about where the wire goes through the grommet into the box. Right where it goes in, the wires are known to break and cause intermittent problems.
