Yeah, I heard Yamaha are shutting down their "standup" production too. You're right about the two-stroke engines and their emission being the reason for all of this. Yes, they will support the existing market with parts; I have been getting some parts for my SXR over the winter.

I see you're in Texas too.

Thanks for the info. Looks like my timing in making a purchase is good. I really wanted to buy new because I can afford it and I want to know the history of the machine(s) before I start to modify.

Yeah... I'm in Allen, TX. We'll be riding primarily up at Lake Texoma with the occasional after work evening ride at Lavon.

I completely understand you wanting to buy new but you could save yourself thousands and thousands of dollars by buying a well-kept superjet off of this site. The majority of the people on this site know their stuff and selling skis to people of this forum is very very useful. I would seriously look into buying a used superjet b/c you will save yourself an unbelievable amount of money on mods(which everybody eventually gets) and other parts.

and if you can afford to buy 2 brand new skis then you could buy 2 aftermarket hulls and 2 used SJs... strip the parts off the SJs to build the aftermarket hulls then sell the SJ hulls ;)

Sweet, I'm in Wichita Falls, TX attending MSU. DFW was my hometown and I come down there a lot over the summer to ride my jet ski. I'm not sure if you know this, There is a standup jet ski crew in DFW called Do Good crew. We go to Grapevine and Lewisville Lake a lot and you can come ride with us this summer.
