300sx

I was hoping to leave the bottom hull of the 750 complete for simplicity sake and strength. It would be nice to leave the motor mounts and pump one piece so there would be one less joint to potentially fail and less to have to measure and align.
I think your going have to cut then in like I did.

All nighter huh? More power to you.
You pulled a few aas fast as your build went.

So whats the plan for a bow eye bushing on the front after the new nose, how do the bob hulls come?
Sea Doo one I'm thinking.

Im kinda understanding the hype even more after a few vids. The bob hull looks to be a blast, if you can make a 300sx perform close to one than its definately worth the effort. Shawn, maybe I can ride yours a few times to see if I need to hunt a 300sx lol.

I was sold on theis video, and if you look at the end a stock SJ gas tank fits with a b pipe.

Not sure if any one has thought about cutting the top of the bulk head and moving it back yet. You would be able to get the motor back ever more than I did.

Just thought I would throw that out their for some thought.

To late for me on this one.

I just put my pump shaft and bearing plate in today. the coupler is like 4 inches ahead of the upper bulkhead. I need to cut the shaft way down. Im not doing anything until I have my motor here so I can be sure. Does any one know if yamaha and kawi couplers use the same threads?

I have an idea for a bow eye. use a racket ball or golf ball as a plug and cover half of it in fiberglass, once its dry cut it so you have a bowl shaped cup to glass in and drop a stainless pin through it from the back.

I believe a 650SX shaft will put the engine where you want it Brian, I wanted mine farther forward and ended up using a 750SX shaft and two 550 couplers.

Nice to see you are still at it! Looks like the front of mine. I have 2 layers of mat and resin, scuffed and smoothed with some green fiberglass bondo. All sanded to 36 grit ready for one last layer of glass and resin before I move to the tray.

Brian, pretty sure that green stuff is polyester. I've read that polyester doesn't stick to epoxy. The best bet is to just take some epoxy and add some filler to it to make fairing compound.

Whatever you do dont use cabosil unless you need to glue something. It dries very hard and cant be sanded easily, a grinder is about your only option. Super strong though. I use it when I shorten a yamaha pole to glue it back to the base before riveting
