Claiming a web address which godaddy says is claimed but...

Chrome gives me this response:

ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

The server at www.______com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chromefrom accessing the network.

Godaddy says its unavailable, should I pay godaddy to get it for $25-69+? Or do I have other options?

It's possible someone is just sitting on it. I paid to hold onto my old website for 2 years after I stopped using it.

The name I really wanted is unavailable just like you mentioned but I never chased down the person to see if I could get it or not.
