Scupper install

Is the xmw scupper like the 247 or the wammer? I don't expect to have one in until next week but want to go ahead and do the prep work. In a nutshell, I'm thinking seal a piece of 2" pvc through the hull, trim excess on both ends , then seal the scupper in place? A couple questions:
I'm assuming I can go ahead and clear it out with a piece of 2" pvc?
Then do I seal the tube in place before installing the scupper?
Is it recommended to use 5200 or epoxy mix?

I've done Blowsion's and my own one-way valves. A scupper doesn't seem too involved until I start reading these guides :banghead::
https://www.wamiltons.com/pdfs/sccuper.pdf - seems overly involved
http://247innovations.com/main2006/pwc/scupper_install.htm - I don't "get" the quick install ring...

I'm thinking real long and hard wether I want to install one or not. scuppers help sink boats. do you have enough foam to keep your ski from sinking to the bottom?

If you're in the surf, why is your boat sitting? :dunno:
This install is going on a boat that's been dripping water through an 1/8" hole for the past three days. The hull is cracked in the bottom left of the transom. The foam was dry two months ago when footwells were installed. I'm hoping the foam is not too saturated and I can get in through a 2" hole and repair/reinforce from the inside with minor exterior work. It'll make for a good time to do the scupper anyways.

why not install one of the Rule automatic bilge pumps for when your ski is just sitting.

They come on about every 2 minutes. If the impeller feels resistance of water - the pump stays on until the water is gone then shuts off.

if it comes on and feels no resitance - it shuts off immediately

I've been thinking about the auto one (25S-6WC) to use as a seperate pump.

either use a rotary 4 position switch (off, 1, 2, 1&2) or two toggle switches

leave the auto bilge on when ski is just sitting on the beach and not have to worry about water coming back in through the scupper.

These are godlike... I will spread the word for eternity. It senses water and spits it out fast. Only runs when it needs to. If ANYONE can tell me why this isn't the best bilge pump out there, I will be impressed. Mine lasted 5 years and still works perfect. 750 GPH beast!!! plus NO stupid switches needed.

I've got one in each of my runabouts. Only thing that would make it perfect would be a sump to drop it into so NO water could collect in the hull. As it is the water has to reach the float actuation point to run, and in my setups that's a fair amount of H2O. I like it dry in there.

my 24/7 scupper works to perfection....barely leaks, and can be swapped out easily..

At least I did something right...

Must be my plumbing skills...

I have always had pretty good luck with my scuppers.

One of my buddies up here blocked his off because he thought it was the main reason his ski would take on water when he got disconnected (backy attempts) from it. He even modified his 24-7 hood to have slightly smaller air intakes.

My friend tied his Superjet to a dock... The rope pulling on his bars tipped the ski leaving the scupper half out of the water.

Needless to say the scupper didn't have enough water pressure to close it and the ski sank like a rock to the bottom of the river. An automatic bilge like the Rulemate would have saved him.
