Dual Exhaust Questions

Just purchased a SN with one of those mini exhaust pipes. The guy who owned it before me just refoamed, so I don't want to deal with messing around with installing a new exhaust tube (although I have to go thru it for dual cooling).

Is going with the blowsion dual exhaust system a good option for me? Also, this hull has #0's tubbies glassed in...how and where would I fit in the outlet for the side exhaust?

Thanks in advance,
Joe

yea i had the blowsion dual exhaust on my sn and it comes out the very front on the left side right under the lip of the ski. i loved it, one of the most noticable mods ive ever done. it was no where as loud as my new ski with only a rear exhaust with a tdr waterbox.

wow thank you very much for your input...i was hoping that. on your square did you have the bigger exhaust tube or the stock skinny one?? also...what waterbox were u running in your square? i'm thinking about putting a roundie in mine...but i also have a dg tri-oval and the stock square one.

Don't do it. There is no real benefit. Just run it out the stock location and be done with it. I have front exhaust and it doesn't make a world of difference. with the right wind it blows right in your face. Now that I have it to get rid of it I have to glass the hole up, I don't think i could trust a rubber cap on the end of it. That just seems like a recipe for a sunk ski.

i agree i had the dreaded 650sx before and i would hate when that would get in my face sometimes...but is it worth going thru the nice new foam to put the bigger stock exhaust tube thru it?

i'm gonna wait until i here ross's feedback before i make any decisions

What did they replace the stock exhaust with?

It really shouldn't be that bad. Look how people put scuppers in without defoaming. They make saw teeth on a piece of pvc pipe, and then the go cutting through the foam, slide the pipe in and seal it all up.

i prefer the zero cavitation, of having a front exhaust, when back-landing and taking off again.

the smoke in the face isnt a big deal for me. i like the smell of 927. it costs enough so might as well get the most out of it.

hey sorry for the delay. i had the stock sn waterbox and the stock exhaust hoses. i dont see any need to go to a bigger exhaust hose, especially with the dual exhaust. I loved the sound of the dual exhaust and i never had much of a problem with smoke in the face. I did notice that there is no cavitation what so ever with it and u can pick up speed quicker from a dead stop and after landing since the exhaust isnt loaded up from the water pressure. just my thoughts about it. i wouldnt do the dual exhaust with an aftermarket water box tho.

The front exhaust works great just be sure to use the stock RN waterbox and keep the front tube diameter larger to keep the noise to a minimum.

I used dual front with no rear exhaust with the sponsons and mounted the outlets as far forward as possible.

Why the front tube larger? I would think the rear so more noise goes out the back?

This would be perfect for my application because I'm working with a SN with a small exhaust tube...can you explain a little more in depth? Those RN Exhaust tubes are like $120 a shot...

The exhaust will flow through the opening with the least amount of back pressure and most of the time the rear is covered with water. Increasing the front tube diameter keeps the exhaust tone deeper. I used 2.5-inch tube from the waterbox going into dual 2-inch outlets and it's just a little louder than stock with a lower tone than most single front exhaust setups. I like to run the exhaust almost dry with little water injection and I keep burning up those rubber exhaust hoses.

0, so if i go with this blowsion setup with a round nose waterbox, a stock squarenose exhaust tube (below), i should meet the requirements you said would work best right?

and the noise level won't increase dramatically? i'm used to a stock rn box in a rn ski lol...how much louder are we talking? i don't want to be the center of attention at daytona lol
