to i picked up this old 91 square for my brother and i to build for his first ski. i didnt get the greatest deal but there is nothing else out here for a g, and upon closer inspection, it hasnt been abused.just sat for a long time. the bottom looks great! better than almost any boat ive seen, and the motor has not been apart (at least the head hasnt been removed) its starts right up and runs great. were on a pretty tight budget, im hoping to get it set up as a reliable surfboat for 14-1500 total. keep in mind that this thing is completely stock!!!! not evne a grate. luckily the guy had a ton of parts layin around (hes a b1 guy) and he hooked up a skat 9/17 prop and rd grate.
so here's the initial plan
motor-
slight tune up. new fuel, lines plugs, cleaned up the carb and bilge, etc. i know its gonna be slow but for casual surf riding, it should be fine. is like to find a cheap pipe for it down the road, and may be go 701 if he gets into it.
new turf, sticker removal-gotta love those graphics!
my bro is 6'4" so the stock pole has got to go. i just gave away my stock rn pole so now im lookin for one (figures) i gotta stock rn bracket, just need a pole, chinpad and bolt. i know this is where most of our budget will get eaten up.
also gonna need stock steering and some 4 degree bars
gonna put on that intake grate and call up impros to see what they can do with that prop, and hopefully its not too expensive.
bilge pump and limit rope.
