I know this is a long shot but thought i would put it out there. in Daytona i lost my wammer hood out in the surf its an 8 hand hold white with Yamaha tuning fork decals on it (just the top half) i rebuilt the hood from a broken one so it has 2 extra breather intakes cut out of the back with carbon behind them....if anyone found it washed up on the shore etc... please let me know.

there is no way i can afford to buy a new one of these and Im hoping i don't have to buy a stocker to replace it

if you know anything about it please pm me or call me at 561-329-8497

thanks everyone,

Barney

Looks good stan just be sure and puller down tight and you wont loose her

and tighten after the strap gets wet. over that length it expands a good half inch.
also loosen it before it dries so its not super tight.

i got lucky, was able to use the same straps from my blowsion strap kit so i didnt need to pull the tank or nothing. i used the hole in the back of the strap and used a old bolt from the honda.
i may come up with a way that even if something were to fail the hood will still stay connected...
oh and check out my bilge pump switch

How well does the strap hold the hood laterally? It seems a hood latch would offer a bit (not a ton) of support from the hood being knocked off sideways say coming down from a under/over roated roll.

I agree with stan that you need to re tighten it once the strap gets wet.

On side ways impacts my hood stays on good with an OEM hood seal. I think some of it has to do with having the strip of turf running the entire length of my hood. I had a machine shop drill and tap two holes to attach a footman's loop to the handpole bracket. On thinner based brackets like the x-metal I imagine you could just dill right through the bracket and through the ski and use a nut and bolt system.
