Anyone ever do this. I plan on attempting it tomorrow. I have some idea in mind...def a budget. freshwater use only. Any threads on this? I tried to search.
now could you haul that up a small hill by yourself??? i am talking a gradual slope that rises about 10 ft in 100 ft? I have had to bring a friend to help me haul it and i am not doing it again, needless to say i can't bride my friends to help without going broke. I found a new spot on the lake to ride and tuesday should be 5-8 fters
Nice, thanks for the link. I am starting from scratch. I plan to use some pvc to keep weight down. I will check the cheap b and g discount store for some tires and an axle tomorrow.
I have a plan to keep the price of these down even more. Instead of using a real tire I'm only going to use a lawn mower innertube around a cheap rim. The innertube should support the wieght (I believe) and the only downside would be somewhat easy to puncture, but then again they are only 4 bucks a pop....
A buddy of mine put some bunks on a 2 wheeler (hand truck) for about $10. It works great and rolls better than my beach dolly because he has bearings and grease fittings. Just air the tires up so that they are hard to make it roll better, less resistance.
It is hard to picture but if you lay the hand truck down and mount 2 24 inch bunks on the lip of it. Or you can cut the lip off of it completely and lay a piece of carpet over it. Then your done you will have to lean over to pick it up that is all.
I picked up some tires and a piece of steel for an axle and put some cotter pins on the end. I could only find a 36inch piece that i don't know if it will be long enough. So far the tires were 65 bucks and the axle i may take back. I have a square sheath that will tightly fit over the axle and then i can weld some angle iron to it. The angle iron because i have it in the garage and then i have a 10' piece of pvc (2") i will cut up. Only this i haven't figured out is how to keep the ski on the rig and where the handle will be.
