Engine problems

my cuzins jetski started out of water with a full battery. we just went to brandenburge and put it in the water and ran for 3 mins then died.It wouldnt turn over due to dead battery. so we bought it home and put a new one in ... fully charge and its trying to turn over witch before it wouldnt what could it be:bs2:


any ideals?

are u saying it runs on the new batt or is turning over and not firing

no.... it doenst want to turn over. it trys but not enough power.We tryed 2 batterys (fully charged) and then tryed jumping it from the car and its still trying to turn over

starter is bad, engine is seized, or something is broken inside and is preventing the motor from turning over, or somethign is stuck in the pump.

Try turning it by hand with the plugs removed. If it turns you probably have a bad starter

pull the plugs and try turning it overe that way

also check ur ground and cable to starter.....

if that doesnt work try jumping it directly to the starter (jumper cables, ground to the head and pos to starter)

i pulled the plugs and tryed to turn it over that way. i did the same thing.It ran great for 3 mins then just died. sounds like a champ.It took off and then got slower. then faster then slower then it died

Eh.....remove the plugs and try to turn it over by hand. (Grab the coupler to do this)

so its not the starter cuz the start will click but it wont turn over. i can see if tryin to turn but it wont turn. its like jammed but nothings there.What do you do if the engine is seized and how does it happen

i turned it over by hand. it only turns on way about 3 turns then stops then goes the other way like 5 turns then stops? it that ok? the pistons move up and down when i turn it over by hand.

That is what happened with a SJ we had. Ended up one of the cylinders was toast. Doesn't sound good :sad:

Did you take the plugs out to crank it by hand?

If yes, remove the pump and try it again.

How do you know? Removing the pump removes one possible cause for the lockup.

If the engine does not spin freely after pump and spark plugs are removed, you may safely assume the engine is focked.
