Well the Orange Beach ride is now history, on to the next event, the Lake Martin Freeride. This is a small camping type event held at Wind Creek state park in Alexander City , Alabama.

The park has primitive camping as well as hookups for campers RV's and some cabins for rent as well, for those who do not wish to camp there are also hotels close by in Alexander City.

The ride will not actually be held at the state park but just around the corner at the Piney Woods boat ramp. For those not camping, coming for just the day or staying at a hotel you can just use the Piney Woods ramp and there is no cost for use of it.

This ride has basically doubled in size for the last three years, this year I am expecting a group of 20-30 riders but as always the more the merrier.

Holy crap! I don't know why I didn't come out ( now that I think about it, I was in Afghanistan). I had no idea there where so many guys that ride near Lake Martin. I was born and raised in Alex City. Oh God do I miss that Lake. Anyhow I dont know if yall are planning another but I plan on taking leave and will be that way in late April early May. I have been lurking for a couple years now and just happened across a post about the ride. Heck now I'm even thinkin about getting the old lady a ski. I will have to check around now to see if there is anything going on in North Florida around that time too.
