    2011 Yamaha XFS build.

Well hell must have froze over cause i finally got a RN hull to ride. Its a solid virgin hull with typical water logged foam for its age. Even though it's not winter yet i just can't help to tear into it. Gotta get the foam out, scupper in and the hull cut. That is the main focus for now.

one night?....more like a couple hours, pressure washers are my friend, my grinder quit on me so i didn't get all the cuts done on the hull for shortening it, i did remove the pump shoe and fix it with PC-11 and sealed it all back in as well as the outside part of the tube for the drive shaft. Tonight i should get some work done, actually people are coming over so....maybe some beer drank instead.

i managed to move one ride plate insert, cut the hull, sand the bondline even, i started glassing the ends of the hull, also removed alot of the green glue and resealed the anchors with PC-11. i also cut the hole for the scupper in the bulkhead, still got to do the one in the pump cavity. making some progress i am in no hurry, its not going to be ready for FSF or anything but i will ride it next season. I am thinking.....no foam.

the hull is quite a bit cleaner now.

anytime, its always a party at the shack,
i was able to get most of the foam out with a big screwdriver but the little stuff that you have to scrape i used the pressure washer. I have done an entire ski with a 0 degree nozzle on the pressure washer through the exhaust hole and scupper hole and yeah it was messy...no bloody knuckles though. I filled in the front fuel hole tonight and started sanding, i hate sanding so i walked away for now. tommorrow i will hit it up a bit more. i weighed it again and it read about 83 lbs but we are going to get a digital hanger style scale tommorrow cause the bathroom scale is just too inacurate. (sp)?

i got my scupper/oneway installed and epoxied in. I also did the two cooling lines. i filled in the front gas cap opening too, that is a tough one to get to look prefect! its close, flat black is more forgiving than gloss so i may or may not work on it a bit more.

Get a trim line in there while you're at it.
