The colors look great! And so does the splatter paint on the turn nozzle. How do you like that Solas double scoop grate on the FX1 with the 144mm pump? I sold my double scoop grate a while back, but I still have a single scoop Solas I plan on using on mine.
Sounds good. It never hurts to overbuild things like this. I figured it was just to further strengthen those larger gaps between the bottom hull and the tunnel. I'm going to give this a shot tomorrow. I got everything sanded and washed and cleaned and prepped today.
I didn't buy any 1708 Biax glass yet, but could I use some small pieces of 3M Bondo fiberglass cloth (seen here in this link https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40068244/ ) in addition to the thickened epoxy with chopped strand for setting my tunnel in?
Thank you for the kind words. It's a big...
I'm getting ready to get some thickened epoxy and chopped strand fiberglass ready to glue the Tom21 tunnel in after getting the pump and driveshaft perfectly aligned. The only issue is that the 144mm pump tunnel sticks down quite a bit (it sticks down a little farther down in the area of the...
Hey Glenn, I sent you a PM. @Motoman399 wants your Waveblaster cover. He's a good guy and he does a lot for the Waveblaster Facebook group, so it'll be going to a good home.
Believe it or not yesterday hit an all time high of 68 degrees and they removed the ice boom from Lake Erie already. Today it dropped down into the 20's and then this weekend it'll be back up in the mid 60's. Roller coaster ride of weather here, but hopefully there'll be an early start to the...
After getting the tunnel lined up with the pump bolted to it, it looks like there's still just a hair of trimming that needs to be done on the rear of the 144mm pump tunnel piece since it's sitting a little bit too high. Other than that, I'm thrilled with how well everything fits so far.
So I finished cutting the bottom of the FX1 to fit the Tom21 144mm pump tunnel and I am very happy with how it turned out. No turning back now! Luckily there are great members that have posted threads here that have helped me through this process tremendously. The new pump tunnel fits like a...
Great idea! I shortened my pole on my FX1 a little more than 2-3/4" and I'm doing a 144mm pump swap with a Kawasaki X2 trim nozzle and this will be a good alternative to the 1" cable extension and it will keep the extra cable length from the shortened pole as you stated. Thanks for the link.
How does your pump swapped FX1 compare to your Superjet? I have a RN Superjet with a @tom21 fixed steer hood and a LPW ported 718 and I'm curious how the two hulls with pretty much exact same drive lines will compare.
It's been a while and unfortunately I never had this project done and ready for the water last Summer. I am going in a completely different direction with the pump swap. I got a really high quality @tom21 144mm pump tunnel for the FX1, and @sasquatchcrap cut down a driveshaft to pre-2008...
How did you use the Waveraider trim ring without the trim arm on the ring hitting the hull? I love the idea of doing that so the steering nozzle doesn't stick out so far when you're using a Kawaski trim/steering nozzle. I thought that maybe using the Yamaha Waveraider trim could be done, but...
This is a great, very informative thread! Has anyone with a FX1 with a 144mm pump swap try a 65v nozzle and/or a 62t nozzle with a Kawasaki X2 adjustable trim/steering nozzle? I'm torn between using a 65V nozzle with the X2 trim or the 62T nozzle with the X2 trim.
I'm doing the Tom21 144mm pump tunnel on my FX1 and I'm going to be running a LPW ported 718. I have a 65V GP800 nozzle and the X2 trim/steering nozzle like yours. Is this 65V nozzle a good option in your opinion compared to using the 62T nozzle (my FX1 is a stock hull besides the 144mm pump...
Both the Yamaha BW200 and BW350 are fun bikes. And don't forget the TW200, which is a street legal fat tire dual sport.
And the XR's are some of the absolute best all around most reliable trail bikes ever made. I'm hooked on them and none of them have ever let me down. I have an XR650R...
