Well I must have hit something wrong. I posted this once but it never showed up. GRRRRRR! So here I go again.

We need to remember that there is an investigation. Speed and alcohol levels are being determined. We have alluded to those things here on this thread. Also there were three groups of people that night before rescue workers arrived. The car's passengers, Zack and Libby, and the responders. Seconds were ticking. The rescue workers even though Matt was from the car at one point. We also thought Zack was from the car. how could we know they were standing in the wrong place at the wrong moment? There was lots to mess up.

I believe that the article mentioned needed to put in a warning of that type when linking readers to such a thread. Emotions run high here understandably.

As for the validity of the information here. I do not believe the article meant to cast doubt on it. They would not link it if so.

As for the accuracy of the accounts. It has been 6 days. I remember each moment like it was last night. Our stories have not changed. This tragic event will live on in my memories forever. I am forever changed by it. And it has been accurately recounted here.

Please anyone, If you have questions feel free to ask them. I know that talking about it helps a lot. Especially for Matthias. The cuts on his arms and legs may be healing but the rest of it will take a lot longer.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts. and Support. Now is the time to honor Zack Libby and James. Their lives well lived, though too short they were.

God bless all of you. I for one and proud to be a part of such a great group of people.

Rest in Peace Zack, Libby, and James! You will not be forgotten.

Char

Funeral time and place

Below is from Libby's obituary at www.tdn.com.

"A funeral will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 15, 2008 at Longview Community Church. Internment will follow at Longview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an account for Mason's education at Fibre Federal Credit Union."

I grew up knowing Libby. Our families became friends when country line dancing was "cool" in Longview....She was an amazing person and her parents, who will be taking care of Mason now, will definitely make sure that Mason will know just how amazing his parents were. I have all the faith in the world that Linda and Greg, along with Emily, Libby's sister, will make sure that he is nothing but happy as he grows up. I'm am extremely glad that Libby and Zach had such an awesome group of friends like all of you!

Minium1982 - 2008Longview resident Libby Michelle Davis Minium, 26, was tragically taken from this life, along with her boyfriend, Zachary Waddle, August 9, 2008 in Cloverdale, OR as a result of an accident. Libby worked for the Parks and Recreation Dept. in Longview, the YMCA in Tacoma, and was a member of the Cowlitz AmeriCorps Network, where she shared her gift of working with children. Libby was very close to her family, spending time with them was so important. Libby enjoyed the time she spent with Zach and Mason running their dog Mac at Willow Grove and fishing in Zach's new boat on the Cowlitz River. Her happiest day was August 20, 2007, when she and Zach became parents of Mason Joe; he survives her at home.

It was a wonderful service. A good sized church packed into the balcony. You could feel a lot of love in the room. Pix of after the service on the church lawn are attached.

Godspeed Zach and Libby.

I am so sorry.

Thanks for the pictures and the attendance, guys.
Looking at that ski, with the helmet on top, and grieving friends around it makes me lose it.
What a shame.

Matt, you should really try to get some rest now. Maybe go to bed early and ride with some good friends in the morning.

What else to say after all have been said. I'm just honored to have been able to meet a guy like that, but life didn't let me the time to know him more. life sucks.
