I am in the early phase of building a Vortech superchaged 15f motor and was talking to a buddy with a turbo ultra out in norcal about cooling. He said in CC trim the water temps never get hot so I asked what the water temp was. He said 60-70F... We hit 90+ in Houston and it's brown most of the time...
I completely see the appeal of California but I can't justify the move because despite some shortcomings, I love Texas.

Yep, at the end of September/August with no rain means relatively stagnant, shallow, salt water in the bay.
Its rough, even the "cooler" layer of water near the bottom is hot.

Found this epic bookshelf design on the internet a few years back so I finally decided to tackle it!
Now that Clive Cussler has passed, my complete collection of all his books needs to be displayed with honor.
Borrowed a router table from my neighbor and ordered a Tongue and Groove bit from Amazon.
Couple long days later...Nailed it!

For the first time this year this place is starting to actually look like ski season weather.
Small garage yamanube? I have a one bay garage l work out of.l have bunches of shelves and hang stuff from the ceiling.Works ok,but l need 3 times as much room.Keep trying to talk the Mrs into another house with a larger garage,but she doesn’t see it! Told her l needed at least enough room for a boat,skis,and her car.Still nope...
Yeah, it's an extra deep one car with laundry in it. It's a sacrifice we had to make to walk to the beach.

We upgraded to a 3 bay garage and it has been so much nicer. Walking distance from a beach would be pretty awesome too though!
We love so many things about our current home but my wife dangled this little carrot in front of me last night...
I don't think it trumps our current situation in any way shape or form though. Just more to clean and keep up.
And as much as I would love another shop, I'm never home enough to use it.

I’ve thought about the retractable boat straps. The problem is I don’t have a rear eyelet and I wrap the strap over the tray with a turfed 1x6 over top. So it needs to be about 7 feet long and I haven’t found one that’s made to be mounted that long. Maybe I’ll come up with something using a regular 10’ retractable strap.

Someday. It’s too soon for that yet though. I am likely to move again within 2-3 years for work so until I reach retirement age, there’s not much sense putting roots down too deep.
