so despite what the manuals say,the factory keihin carbs are 38's not 40's.wanna run 40's cheap?buy a set off a triple polaris like a 2000 or 2001 1200 slx,virage tx,or pro1200.lop off the pto carb and viola!
running fuel pressure is about 2 psi at idle and 5 psi at wot with one pump and the stock return restrictor.run the stock jetting for lows and mids and swap out the cen main jet to a 140 like the mag jet.biggest issue to over come is the accel pump,most of the time either one of the brass check balls in the squirters is pitted or the plastic ball in the jet body is warped,it can be replaced with a steel one.i've done all these mods and way more.i'm running a carb setup like this on my custom mutt motor 777 in a 3 seater hull.skis called mrs behavin and its in the polaris projects section at greenhulk.net.one day when the hull wears out it'll all go into a hurricane.
