I posted this 550 on the first page 7 years ago and this was the ski that started it all for me over 10 years ago. I sold it shortly after to build a superjet, bought it back years later after it had killed its original electronics. The previous owner replaced the stator and still no spark and gave up on it. I still had some old parts kicking around and did some testing with the multi meter to find out the cdi had gone bad. new cdi gets the spark back and I hang the old butches ski shop hood on the wall for a future replica paint job and toss this stock hood and pole I had been saving to replace the cracked pole on it. We took it to the lake and it did the dreaded flywheel key shear and took out the flywheel and cover, classic right! It then got pilfered for parts once again for another ski build and sat in pieces for another few years. Well this summer was the one I promised myself I would get it going and I'm glad I did. The old girl runs as good as ever, for now anyway. Just thought I would share my 550's story

Finally finished my 1984 JS 550 that i bought from a junkyard for $250. Had to repair fiberglass, sand and paint black, then installed a vinyl wrap kit. Motor was locked up when i got it, now has a SBT motor, Westcoast full exhaust, K&N flame arrestor, Westcoast ride plate and intake grate, and Skat Trak impeller20190716_122151.jpg20190718_215044.jpg20190718_215057.jpg
