Has anyone used another cable with the thrust ez pull system? Or does someone know the throw of it so I can have a better cable made? I've had 2 cables break in 3 years and I was told by Brian @ thrust not to expect more than a couple seasons out of them. That seems a little quick but I don't know if that's just what to expect with any trim cable.
I never hear anything about xmetal cables breaking but have had multiple friends have issues with thrust cables..

Ive broken multiple x metal cables and thrust. The rrp trim cable is twice as thick both cable and housing but unfortunately doesnt work with thrust trim. My current thrust cable has over 2.5 years on it and lots of use. On my surf ski I keep it very loose, the cable doesn't start pulling til the lever is halfway to the bar.

I also change my throttle cable twice a year so its always smooth and light.

There is a lot of thrust coming out and its just a bicycle brake cable soo its kind of expected. Krash actually uses a short throw steering cable on their rtr skis.

More wear items bro...lol

Ive broken 1 Xscream trim cable, and it was the outer liner of cable, that broke. Ive never broken the inner cable of a Xscream trim cable yet, over 4 years :)

Do you know the throw and the specs of the material to use?

Start by calling them and telling them what you want. They might already have something ready to go. You can send them your broken cable and ask them to make it the same size but stronger.

I’ve broken a few xs trim cables. Usually right at the crimped on end. If it bends or kinks there it will break. I’ve been putting a few layers of heat shrink with the glue inside over the last couple inches to stiffen it up. Haven’t had a problem since.
