Blaster sport boat racing series

We have been racing in the Powerboat Nationals Hydrocross sport boat series and it has been great. Only issue is we need to get some more sport boat riders involved. They run both sport spec and sport Gp classes, these races are IJSBA world finals qualifiers and if you are a Powerboat National member(small fee) they pay $125/day for gp and $75/day spec in addition to a $100 per weekend travel payment no matter your race finish. Next race is in Ravenswood WV on aug 4&5 then Shreveport La on Sept 1 & 2. Check out their website or facebook Powerboat Nationals for more details or give me a shout. Oh by the way all the races are televised on fox sports regional TV.

I'm aiming to have a sport stock (Pro Watercross rules) Blaster ready for next year. Is there a link to the rules for the Powerboat guys on how they run their ski stuff?

Thank you in advance

Powerboat Nationals uses IJSBA rules which is basically same as PWC for spec class. I made 2 Powerboat National events this year and they really are awesome. Top notch race venue, cater bigtime to the racers, pay you to show up and race and the whole weekend is just plain fun.

Awesome, thank you for the quick reply. I am aiming to join you guys for 2019!

You will really enjoy it. Now if only there were a way to fast forward a few months haha. Are you on the FB groups "waveblaster conversions" or "Sport Boat Racing"? If not, I'd recommend joining those groups.

Also - this weekend there is a large group of guys getting together to run some buoys in Chatanooga, TN which isn't too too far from you. More details in that sport boat racing page

No sir, I am not on there yet. Just requested to join both!

I won't have the ski ready for traveling this weekend I'm afraid. Still figuring out the "new" 62T based engine and carbs that I found online to install into the hub. Currently fighting with carbs and aim to test this weekend on Oconee.

And ^ Rex & his 3 sons that race sport class are all out of Atlanta. Not sure if you know them or not but doesn't seem like they're too far from you. They have multiple spec & GP blasters

Are those the "Three Brothers Racing" folks? I've been watching a lot of their stuff on YouTube here lately to try and get an idea of what it will take to transition from sportbikes to watercross. Looks like a freakin' blast - and no tire bill!

I gotcha. Message me on FB if you have any questions. And yep, TBR is Rex, Logan, Kyle and Wyatt. They run all the Powerboat Nats races and most of the Prowatercross ones. Real nice guys and have been through it all with the different engine setups in the blasters
