RRP Rickter Pole Bracket Install Issues

All,

I am trying to install my RRP Rickter pole bracket. I am having trouble getting the "cubes" to align to the holes in the top plate. The uprights must be tightened first, because once the top plate is set on the hull, you can't get at those allen head screws anymore. When I try to push the bolts up from the bottom and into a cube, the threads do not align. I have tried all variations of directions. I can make a large gap from the cubes to the top plate and begin to tighten, but as they tighten, there is clearly an issue with tolerances. I can't access the RRP website right now (I think it is down) to see if they have suggestions for this, but I figured someone here has to have had this issue. I AM running a limiter rope, so are these cubes really even necessary? The only thing I can think of that would matter is that if my limiter rope broke, and that there would only be 4 bolts holding the backplate to the top plate instead of 6. Has anyone run these without the cubes? I am trying to avoid either drilling out the top plate holes, cutting the cubes or grinding away at the uprights.

Any suggestions?

I would return that and get one that's right

The cubes are slightly rectangular. Try rotating them a few different ways for a proper fit.

Install the uprights before the cubes. Uprights are also directional. If they are installed wrong the cubes may not fit.

If you still have issues contact your rrp dealer to resolve this.

The picture I took was the good way. The other way is worse.

Rrp never factored in the thickness of the anodizing..... everything is just a hair too snug. We had to file the cubes a bit

^what he said. They machine them literally perfect. Too perfect in fact. So you can just sand the one edge.

So I'm not the only one. I hate sanding off brand new anodizing...
