Racing.

That's because someone who knew what the fcuk they were doing, designed the class..... :)

IMO, sport spec is still the most competitive class out there, especially when you consider how affordable the class is compared to most these days..

Apply those style rules with slight tweaks to Superjets, SXRs, and Octanes.

"Ski Spec 2 stroke" as an amateur class to capture all the non SXRF"s and triples.

^^^ tried to get something like that passed with both the IJSBA and AJ and never could get any traction. Also tried with an 800/1100 open spec runabout class. IMO, that would have been huge, but again, couldn't get the powers that be to show any interest. It's tough, there are already too many classes, so I get the hesitance to add additional ones, but there are plenty of classes in racing that have 2-3 riders on the line and at some point, you have to start building classes that will bring out the masses.

To be honest, I'm so glad I am out of it now. Putting together rules is a HUGE pain in the a$$. For every one person you make happy, there are 5 who are pi$$ed they didn't get exactly what they want. And, especially in classes with multiple types of skis like Blasters and Hx's. It would probably be easier with SXRs and SJs because they are fairly close in terms of design and handling on the track.

And no, Big Kahuna, I am done. I had 15 fun years racing, but after my daughter was born, just would rather do other stuff.

I had 6 years of racing until Izzy was born. Then raced 1 time 2007, 2008 Raced 1 Regional Race and then Raced Nationals. Hung it up after that. 2008 was also the same year that Trace Mill's steering cable broke in tupelo and filed a suit agains APBA, Tupelo and Surf & Turf. 2009 There was no more Surf & Turf. Hung it up. Raced 1 time in 2015! Had a Ball!
I totally get it. I miss the camaraderie.

For those around the NW area, check out our first race coming up at the end of the month.

WaterX racing is returning to Elma, Washington again this year for a 3 round series this spring/summer. These are region 3/Pac NW IJSBA qualifier races put on by some of the best in the business including Blake Corning (IJSBA course designer/race director), Dan Lindgren (Grayland Open Promoter) and longtime local legend Monte Hughes.

Sponsored by Jettrim, JetRenu, U.S. Marine Sales, Hot Products, Skat Trak, Gasket Technologies, Weber Power, Paulson's Motorsports, Fusion Graphix, Farrell Fab, and Lacey Collision Center, these events are a killer time with some of the best racing action in the U.S.

The first event is coming up April 29/30 at Vance Creek Park in Elma, Washington and is sure to be a fantastic season opener up in the Northwest.

Looking forward to seeing a great turnout with lots of new faces and all the old friends.
