Best for who?

Ever copy a diet that a friend had incredible results with but for some reason didn't work do jack chit for you? That's because we are all a little bit different. At least that's the concept of metabolic typing anyways.

The problem with most diets is that we try to generalize them to suit everyone when that is simply not possible.

I am a protein type, my wife is a mixed type. We each prepare our meals accordingly.

Lots of tests available but this is a decent enough one and also free;

Protein, fat, greens and very low carbohydrate diet works for everyone. We are all the same and our bodies create insulin when we eat carbs. Yes, some people have sensitivities with certain foods like dairy, beans or nuts etc, but for the most part we are the same. The metabolic type diet looks to be on the same level as the blood type diet. However, if it is working for you and you are able to stick to it, then more power to you. :)

Great video here:

We are all not the same. Ours guts are composed of bacteria that's been building up for years.

Do you have friends that ate the same food as you all the time(Live and work together)? There's always one who can't eat Taco Bell anymore :) He has the weakest bacteria/flora. It all starts out with being breast fed or not.

Diets are mostly BS in my opinion. Just eat a lot of everything. When I was in the best shape of my life(high school football), I'd get Three Whoppers with Cheese and extra mayo for lunch. When I used to road bike a lot, I'd eat everything when I got to work: Bucket of Fries, 2-4 Chilli cheese dogs with the works, bowl of soup, ham and cheese, chocolate milks, and some Onion Rings. Repeat.

Once I decide to stop doing physical activity, then I'll consider a way to DIE(t)

Some of the answers are quite interesting. The "Burger King" diet guy,you know better.Too much info out to support using (and l hate to say it) a junk food diet as a plan.My wife, son, and l eat more greens with protein (meat) only being eaten a couple times a week. And that can vary to chicken or fish also.Maybe l should leave the word "diet" out of the title. But there are a number of ways to eat well and as we age our needs change.l'm 59,so yes what l eat is different per say than someone in their 20's to 30's.

Yes, you can get by with eating nothing but garbage for so long and longer depending on your level of activity and age. As far as the gut bacteria theory, I would need to see some kind of evidence to back that up. When you take antibiotics and kill the bacteria in your gut does it still matter what you ate years prior?

Antibiotics do not kill ALL bacteria in(and around) your body. Food never enters your "body" it only goes through it.

I'm no doctor, but I do know evidence of this is easy. Why can't I drink water from other countries, yet the locals are fine? Gut bacteria. I'm pretty sure I can digest Mississippi water(northern parts) without any side effects.

There is a great book on this topic called "Eat right for your Blood Type"
Its very very interesting and goes right along with what OCD is saying. Your blood type relates to your ancestry all the way back to the beginning of time and how those people ate. Hunter's vs Farmers etc etc etc.

My wife and I are polar oppisite (of course). My body doesn't like whole wheat, if I eat a lot of it I break out like a teenager. Corn isn't the best for me either but, I love chips and salsa so... yeah. But I can eat all the rice I want, so thats my go-to carb.
But the point of the book is that some people will gain more weight eating wheat than others. Some people gain weight eating meat more than others etc.

Blood type diet is also made up fiction. Sounds like you are gluten and corn sensitive.

"CONCLUSIONS:
No evidence currently exists to validate the purported health benefits of blood type diets. To validate these claims, studies are required that compare the health outcomes between participants adhering to a particular blood type diet (experimental group) and participants continuing a standard diet (control group) within a particular blood type population."
