Freestyle MSD total loss setup. ET 1107

I know it has been done. I read that thread (first time setting up tl). Anyway maybe someone can help me and others by creating more then one. So I guess we can start with my situation. Here is my setup: set up for freestyle :

.2013 Trendsetterz built fiberglass Backie Chan, 148mm 12 vein h20 designs torrent ss setback pump set up for dual cooling, wdk lay down pipe similar to a powerfactor pipe, pfp water box,1107 ET ,46 SBNs, lightened msd flywheel . Msd total loss.

I have made contact with Art at ET and this was his suggestion:
Race gas setup
32 initial
Start to retard at 5500
Target 7000 at 20 deg
7850 rev limit.
Pump gas setup retard stator 2 deg same map otherwise.

This being my first time setting one of these msd total loss ignitions I need a little more detail.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This was my guess of what he means

So I dug into the directions a bit. so set the stator to fire at the 35 degrees mark on the flywheel and set the dip switches as in my picture below? So if I did my math right at 7000rpms I will be at 20 degrees.IMG_5430.JPGIMG_5270.JPGIMG_5431.JPG

There is a spot in the MSD instructions where you can plot your own timing curve on a graph and see exactly where its going to be at every rpm increment. Highly suggest it. I know quite a few that recommend setting static timing at your max and not asking the MSD box to remove any timing. One less thing to go wrong with the MSD box. You should also be setting up your static timing with a dial indicator not a degree wheel. Your builder should be able to provide you with a measurement of Inches btdc to set your msd box to trigger at.

That is awesome. But one problem I am not running race gas. He said for race gas do 32 degrees initial timing and for pump do 30 degrees and the map is completely the same otherwise. Any suggestions??? I would like to be on the safe side.

Your post just said race gas setup, so i figures that you were on racegas.
Anyhow, im also running a ET 1107, MSD TL and all the parts. im at 32deg static. 5500 start retard. RPM limit 8500. 7deg at 8500rpm.

ah im sorry, i misread a few lines from your original post.
Well to be safe run 30 deg static timing like art said.
Actually im running 32 static on pump gas (shell V power99oct (RON), wich equals to 88 MON)
You are good to go, with thoese settings you posted :)

Sweet! I appreciate it! All these dip switches look right ? If I set my stator to fire at 35 degrees?
