Because we can....

Both skis look better this way...

Gets rid of the green spikes in the tray.....

The resin fumes made me do it....

After all it is all about continuity.

@frodiesel did you reinforce the tom21 hood? The 24/7 seems much thicker in places (especially the pole bolt area). I wish I had the 24/7 or rad dudes carbon hood in your pic

Carbon hood is much beefier in many places. Have people had issues with the pole area on tom21 hoods? Anyone broke one? I could see putting a knee, head, or shoulder through the side first.

I weighed both hoods, green is 32 and silver is 30. This is with steering, grips, ss swt, throttle cable, and pads: complete. I did not like the green hood on the orange ski, the tray is much wider on the freak up front and the green hood air intake sticks into the tray like daggers... a real danger. I wanted to modify the green hood but chose to try the swap instead.

Pleased with the way the Tom21 fits, cleans up the tray, and changes the ride position a bit forward. Coupled to the 701 qs-s it raises the bars which allows you more leverage.

Only downside: The hood liner on the green hood has narled up a carbon intake cover and a stock FA bc the carb sits too high. Or just the way it is, I need to find a low profile FA. AND order more bulb seal.

@johny. Happy NOW????

I've broken it in a few places. Repaired the cross bar. Laid a few layers of 17oz in the nose because it egged out where the bushings go. Laid a bunch across the inside top. I'm gonna have to cut the hood liner out and reinforce it all. The hood liner broke on the left side so I thru bolted it a bunch.

The nose piece I wasn't too impressed with. That blob ripped off once so I epoxied it back on. It ripped off again and I lost it so I screwed it on.

nope :p i meant the silver hood on the silver ski. lines look better imho. converntional hoo is meh. im still in a toss up if i like the aquabot style fixie or if i like the bigger hood.

Funny you said 'limited' vs. ?. This is how flatwater becomes fun: shredding

edit: no knees involved unless the rider wants, so the analogy is accurate about the lower center of gravity. (huge) But 2 factors that aren't taken into account: Thrust and steering
