Krash RTP Thread

I have been searching constantly trying to find out how people are liking/disliking the manufactured RTP line from Krash... I have seen older videos/posts/reviews stating people are not happy with the nuances which come along with owning a Krash..
  • Reliability(too soon?)
  • Characteristics
  • Access to Parts living in USA
  • etc..
I have been thinking about selling my modified 17' SJ and moving "up" to the Krash Foot Rocket. Gulf side of Florida has been boring the poop out of me and it's time to start moving into freestyle territory. If Krash doesn't seem like the choice, I will move into selling my hull and putting the internals into a freestyle hull and go from there...

Buy a Tigercraft or Rickter or xscream or crazy joes bam or just used hull. I would sell superjet complete and build freestyle ski from scratch. Use a vxr or raider as donor. Have shaft shortened by the dude on here. Then you can have extra money for a nice lay down pipe and nice trim system.

Quinc,
Could you expand on the parts that need gone through?

Thanks - Ross

-Run a tap through all of the threads
-Throw the bolts and nuts that come with the hull away and replace with new stainless hardware from mcmastercarr.
-If you do not do the above at least take everything apart and put it all back together with blue loctite. On my hull all of the bolts needed a few more turns of the wrench to be tight.

*This is also a good rule of thumb of going through any ski you buy new or used.

Buy a helicoil kit for when the threads strip you can drill them out and fix them.

*Having done all this I would have no issue buying another ski from Krash.

From what I've heard and seen, they dont make very good power. I built a Havoc for a customer with a 701/pipe/enhancer/head and it out performs 2 other rtp he rides with. Maybe they aren't tuned right, idk. I went riding with them, and both of them had electrical issues, would only run for 1 min at a time. I've seen them at worlds, didnt look to hot, need to hope on one for get a better opinion, but from what I've seen/heard, I'd never buy one.

I think it's awesome for someone to be making a affordable option, just not sure if they have all the bugs figured out yet.

I’m at the point now where it’ll be another 5-7k to throw at a old SJ to get it where I want or for another 4k have a brand new ski with a much better hull... can’t compare a SN SJ and a new A/M Hull but for the price point of the Krash skis it seems like a no brainer. Almost too good to be true - hence the questions. I couldn’t agree more I think what they are trying to achieve is a game changer. I have done much research and from what I have learned there was issues with earlier skis. There were problems with getting certain parts earlier on. There is a new dealer in Chicago that I am planning to take a trip down and go check one out. Maybe it’s time to pull the trigger.

Out of curiosity who wants to throw their opinion out there on the power compared to other more established brand engines of same size?

Probably closer to a stock seadoo 951 than a xs900. As awesome as it would be to have a factory engine perform as a well as a 10k aftermarket engine; Reliability and warranty claims are going to be top priority.
