so i have had trouble getting my x2 to just start and idle and run properly.
currently i always have had to prime it just about everytime to get it to start then gun it and then she runs fine.
upon inspection i noticed my check valve does nothing..why cause its 20 years old and air goes both ways.
could this be the issue. the check valve part on the gas tank.

when i blow through it the tank gets pressurized and when i let go the air comes right back out.
also i am noticing that the primer has a lot of air bubbles in it and when i plugged the one way it started to pull gas consistenty. no more air pockets.
the carb is properly tunes and as i hold the pressure in the tank it will run then die after a bit.

so is the thing really my issue. or is it something else.

Yes.....

The check valve makes a difference. On my SeaDoo HX, I had a bad tank check valve and the motor wouldn't go past 3/4 throttle.

A new check valve is what, maybe $5? Replace it, it is definitely worth the small amount you will pay.

Dont worry about the vent valve. They tend to stick closed causing the tank to collapse. Leaving it out will let the tank vent in both directions making the water separator fill faster. Its easier to set the carb with the tank vented.

The only issue running without one is if you have the tank vented in the bilge area. Make sure you run the non-checked vent line up the pole.

you can ride just fine without it......take about 3 feet of fuel hose and wind it into a tight coil it'll work just fine

Try and find something you can stuff in the line for a tiny restrictor, a 1/4 barb connector with a 60 main jet screwed in the end would work just fine.
Replace the primer as they go bad all the time, If your carb and jetting is correct and the primer works like it suppose to, you really don't need a check valve to run once the fuel system is primed, but use them for safety when venting in the engine compartment.
We use those cheap ones that come card of 20 from the motocross shop. $3

ok so i bought a check valve.
it has a arrow and says flow out one direction.
you can blow through one side(arrow pointing) and not blow through the other.
what is the way its supposed to be
flow into the tank and not out or out but not in??
currently i have it so air can come in and not out but it seems like there is alot of pressure and the ski is just sitting when i disconnect it there is a pretty good amount of air that escapes.

You have it installed correctly. Your fuel system is a sealed system and should act exactly as you describe. On a properly functioning fuel system, if it is a hot day you should hear a hiss of the pressure escaping when you open your gas cap.
