The SuperJet and B1 Carburetor Database

I'm in the process of putting a pair of 46mm Mikuni's on my SJ to see if I like them and have been thinking of how I plan to jet them. I then though how helpful it would be if we all had a large database list of what others run with their given setup. Since many of us run pretty similar motor setups, it would be useful for the next build or give others an idea of where to start.

To prevent repeat information, if you see exact jetting specs that you are running (same carbs/motor), then please don't add to the list again.

Lets try to keep this list consistent and most importantly, concise.

Okay, I'll start off with my jetting specs for my RN SJ:

Pilot Jet = 75
Main Jet = 135
Needle/Seat = 2.0
Spring = 95g
Pilot screw = 1-1/4
Main Screw = 1-1/2

Would it pass the 10 second WOT test = YES!
Powerband = Bottom to midrange
Motor type/setup = 701 (61x cyl/62t case), mild cylinder porting, 190psi head, Vforce2 reeds, Factory "mod" B Pipe, MSD Enhancer, stock F/A.

Only 4 people with carbs and mods?

While this is a nice idea in theory, I have found that a lot of people have deficiencies in their carb tuning, like a lean spot, or rich, etc. Unless I've ridden a ski and know it's tuned properly, then to me these numbers are worthless.

This is not to disrespect anyone that has posted, and I'm also not saying my tuning is perfect either. I just think that to post numbers/setups here, your engine should run like an electric motor, perfectly tuned, pull the throttle a little more and it revs a little more, etc. My current setup is not like that, it's close, but I still have some tweaking to do and it's 100% rideable.

Also, there are sooo many variables to this it's not even funny.

That's exactly how my setups run/ran. :biggthumpup:

However, it took a while to get there.

True but still gives people a starting point and will give people somewhere to go rather then another what jetting should I use thread:banghead::banghead:

I believe my setup on my RNSJ is VERY typical and quite possibly, very common. (all) My chit runs like an electric motor without any flat spots. I'm real fussy about that. If you find most have a poor running motor, maybe after reading some of these specs they will improve (learn?) on what others have spent a good deal of time with "tuning."

There are no guarantees in life and YMMV!!!

Thanks Sanford! Although every ski/motor setup/riding environment is different, this thread really helps to sort things out in a more organized fashion. I've searched for hours trying to find similar carb settings like mine and they are scattered everywhere. This is a good starting point.
I will post my info when things get "dialed in" better.
