carb question

Rebuilding motor / carbs. Got new needle and seats for the carbs. They are duel 44mm mukini. Purcahsed 2.0 needle/seats then pulled out the old ones and found they where 2.3.

Manual is telling me stock is 1.5 needle and seat. Should i put 2.0 in them or try and swap for 2.3. Got stock motor and stock exhaust.

not that easy.....pop off will be higher with the 2.0....which means you could end up with a lean hesitation on revving....lean is never is good thing.....might have to use a lower tension spring to get back to the right pop-off (or what you had before)

Its stock motor, stock exhaust and 44mm stock carbs. I will check the jet sizes and see if they are stock maybe they have been changed and maybe that is why it is larger possibly. I bought it second hand. Manual says stock size is 1.5 that why i got 2.0 seats which i thought will be better then i found out they where 2.3 seats so they been changed from stock by previous owner. it running the 65gram shiny silver springs. There the lowest springs i can get to for the lowest popoff. I got gold as well 115grams but that will increase popoff. It was a lites race ski originally.

i got multiple carbs here. i am going to run 40mm now with the old jets and new 2.3 needle and seats as the old ones had wear groves in them and caked in salt corrosion on the bottom.

So, if you are aiming to run with the 2.3ns, you can use the O-rings and the needles which just came with your 2.0/ns. That way the needle will be new and the seat @2.3 will keep your popoff on whatever target you are trying to get to. This is presuming the 2.3 seat is still good.
