Blowsion OVP Steering System And Handle Pole

SpaceCowboy do you have any feedback after riding it? I'm looking at an AM pole this seems to be the way to go. A few different people ride my ski. One has crazy long monkey arms and I have shorter arms. How quick can you adjust length? Most reviews I have read seem like they were written by blowsion. Thanks for any feed back people can provide

It's pretty easy to change length...I wouldn't want to adjust it back and forth a bunch of times during the day...it's an awesome pole and I wouldn't have anything else currently produced.

Here is a review of Blowsion's new Handle Pole with their new OVP (over the pivot) steering system.

You can see it here

I have been running this pole for some time on my new Krash Ind. Predator and I knew that I liked the system but, I was on a new ski with a new pole so everything was a little different.

Yesterday I had the chance of riding my old JB-1 with a RRP Pole and my friends JB-1 with the new Blowsion Pole and Steering to get a real side by side comparison and WOW!

The new steering feels better in your hands, turns so quick and smooth and flat out makes the hull handle better since you are steering more naturally like a bmx or motorcycle.

Quick turns on the lip in a critical section with your weight over the front of the pole works better. Everything works better. Fluid turns left and right are easier. Your not swinging behind the pivot left and right....

Honestly the easiest way I can explain it is the difference between the Blowsion and RRP is Blowsions is like riding a dirt bike with your elbows up and riding aggressive where the RRP now feels like your riding with your elbows down at your hips. Even if you pull your elbows up to get more aggressive, you can't get in the same position you can with blowsions system and you still have to "swing" the bars and it just plain feels outdated. No more swinging, just turning.

Put it like this. Behind the pivot steering would be like taking your BMX and pulling the bars back towards you until they are flat, swinging the bars left and right to turn vs standing the bars up and turning the bars left and right on the pivot. Which one makes more sense?

It's like when riser bars came out. I was like well, never going back to straight bars. Now I'll never go back to a behind the pivot system. Outdated.

Honestly if you are in the market for a new pole and steering...your an idiot if you don't get this new system. #sorryimnotsorry

The new steering only works with the new pole BUT, this pole is made in the USA, it has a better cinching system grabbing around the extruded tube so you pole will never come loose (see here)View attachment 248766

And the pole weight is lighter than a RRP billet pole. Plus it's not a twin tube knock off like everything else on the market. That's a winner folks.

Racer David Redinger adds "This pole is amazing for closed course racing as well! So responsive!"

Thank you blowsion for making an awesome product.

EDIT.

I also wanted to note that it's $1145.50 for the pole. Plus the OVP steering system sets you at $1395.45. RRP is $1472.95 including RRP steering on their Lightweight Billet pole and $1298.95 w/ steering so, like its weight, it's in the middle of the two poles. No excuse!

my review: This is a super solid, well designed assembly with top notch matching. coming from a machinist/cnc background i was really impressed with the tooling on these parts. hard to believe that they are making any money on these poles! the color options are endless, they can do almost any anodize you want and even personalize the chin pad. no one else in the industry offers any thing like this, which is pretty rad.

pros:
-personalize
-OVP steering system. great design with a well sealed cone bearing. easy lube via zert fitting. i used red locktite when i assembled and have not touched it in months.
-extruded center support. very very rigid. i have no flex as i did with other pole designs.
-light weight. didnt weigh it but it felt similar to a rrp pole.
-adjustable. i cut a few inches off after i rode it a few times

cons:
-OVP steering system raises your bars quite a bit. so much so that i was struggling pulling myself on the ski, granted i side start 90% of the time. if you are use to riding with riser bars you would be fine running straight bars. i found that using 50mm risers you have to tilt them back quite a bit so as no to crush your chin pad (oops!!). the ovp steering puts the pole closer to you, i strongly suggest padding the underside of the pole. i crushed my knee the 1st ride and was out for a month. in that time off a mfg a pad/bracket to prevent that from happening again.
-breathers tubes. they are not 2.5" like all other poles. they are 2" and made of plastic that does not expand and contract when the pole is traveling up and down. if you have 2.5" holes in your ski you are going to want to tell them so they can supply a different plate under the handle pole bracket so it will seal better around the tubes. if your running a large engine you may have air supply issues but i wouldnt know because i only have a ported 701 w/ BJ 38s.
-blowsion riser bars. i had the rrp prior and my ss switch fit fine with odi grips but the bars blowsion sells (dont know the brand) dont have as much length before they taper/bend so i had to mod my ss switch assy.
-bushings, i think they use a nylon plastic instead of a delrin/acetal. they are more durable but mine squeek like crazy.

overall i think it is a great investment for any one looking to upgrade. i switched from a rrp light weight and am more then happy with the performance of the blowsion pole. if i ever get the money to build another ski i would not even hesitate buying again. the guys at blowsion were very helpful in answering my questions and quickly shipping parts that were missing. i pointed out some of the cons of the design to them and they were already aware and working on solutions which may have been updated.

Any idea how the new Blowsion pole would look on the new Havoc hull? Totally different hood and look than the Brawler so I can't figure out if it would look good or not. (I have read the twin tube pole wouldn't be a good look for the Havoc although they look great on the Brawler). Just looking for opinions although I'm pretty sure nobody has tried it yet.
I'd be OK with the Xmetal pole since it's recommended and I have already seen it looks great on the Havoc. -- Plus it's a lot cheaper!

But I have been sold on the Blowsion pole for a while now and planned on getting one along with a Superfreak. But after Daytona I am really liking the Rage Havoc's and not sure if this is the pole to get for those hulls.

Thanks

I am also using the new Blowsion pole with OVP steering.... Def a sweet set up, but, my OVP steering has a tight feel... ???

Disconnected the steering cable so that is not the issue... Was installed by a reputable shop as well...

Is this normal as I was expecting a buttery easy to turn set up... ???

I only used for 15 minutes so maybe it will loosen up... Any feedback would be great... !!!
