adjusting carbs for elevation change

I took my ski from about 1500 ft elevation to pretty much 0, was running 1 1/8 turns on the low screw and 1/2 on top, the carbs are blackjack 44's can I get away with adjusting the turns or will I need to switch the jets out?

IMO, at 1500ft and already at 1-1/8 out on the low speed screw - you need to go up 2.5 in jetting on the low jets. (So, go from like 120 to 122.5 - or whatever you are running +2.5). This is BEFORE coming down to 0 ft. I believe you may already be off/lean at 1500ft.

I really like to see my carbs run at 1 turn low screw. It idles better and still gets the fuel it needs off idle with a larger jet.

I’m going to revive this with some actual specs. Current set up is 115 large jet 130 small jet, 2.0 seat with shiny spring so that would be about 18psi pop off per the chart. When I opened the carb there was a fair amount of fuel to soak up. When riding it would start right up after a short choke to start the day. It rides fine as long as I slowly build throttle, even up to high speed in a straight line. If I ever let off then grab the throttle it dies, hard. Its pretty useless to try jump wakes as I try jam the throttle right before the wake and it falls flat/cuts out. I tried emailing art again but no reply. High screw at .5 out low screw at 1.25-1.5

turn the low screw out 3 turn and see if it still has a lean hesitation. if its gone, put a 145 low in there and screw it back in to 1 turn out and try it. turn the high screw out a lot farther too and try it
