Came across this ported 61x cylinder with exhaust ports in a shape I haven’t seen before. And ported higher than I’ve seen before. Somebody took their time it is smooth and clean work. Any input would be appreciated

That looks like work from back in the old pro-mod days when we were all stuck with oem cyls.
Tried many differant port shapes to see how to change the powerband for differant craft.
Hard to say whos work that might have been?? Most etched name and cut someplace on the jug
To ID how it worked, and keep track of it? Look and see if you can find any markings.
In my personal work, a cut like that worked in the runabouts / sport boats.
Hope that helps you?

I did some clean-up and was able to find what I believe are the #’s 929 etched into the base. Does this mean anything to anybody out there? Cyl was aquired in the SoCal area. Thanks
