2018 rickter edge fr build questions

Hello all. I just started building a new edge fr. Ive run into a few problems here and there, and would like your opinions.

1) Drive shaft is about 1/2" too long. Everything ive read is that stock driveshaft fits correctly, or maybe needs a 3mm spacer at most, but this is not my case. Only 2 options I can figure out is to send the shaft to be cut, or to use a 1/2" midshaft spacer (cold fusion alignment tool is the perfect width for this, but dont know if there may be problems from such a big spacer). Any ideas?

2) I had to remove the motor mount plates to insert the back screws. This was no fun task since the bolts holding them were loctited and torqued to hell and I stripped the allen heads on 2 or 3 of them.

Cold fusion couplers for Rickter not spacers. Motor mounts I install early and loose with Nyloc nuts and no washers, tighten when in the correct position. The spacers for couplers was long ago, Jetmaniac can hook you up with the correct drive shaft length and couplers (I believe) while your at it get the correct steering cable for your pole also!

Note: Pictures just to show how much of the driveshaft comes out of the bulkhead. Its not the same pump.

on my first Rickter build I shortened one coupler half to make it fit, my next one Cold Fusion sold me Rickter couplers, one was shorter than the other and they bolted up nicely.

I am trying to figure out how couplers are changing this. If the shaft sticks out farther and is bottom the midshaft housing from seating how will couplers help. Unless your saying that you pressed your midshaft forward some and the shorter couplers allowed this. But why not just slide the motor forward and press the midshaft forward

Couplers are not the issue here. The midshaft itself is bottoming on the splines (full spline engagement) before even touching the bulkhead.

Someone told me it's not ok to press it in that much.
 
Have you tried a different pump or measured the shaft to make sure you didn't accidently get shipped the wrong length? Could it possibly be a shaft to fit an oem 155 pump?

Dont have another pump available. Well, I have one, but its 2010 so its longer. Do you know the correct measurement?
