‘98 SXI Pro POP-off question

Hello all. I know this has been a well discussed topic but I was hoping to get some feedback in a single thread for my application.

Rebuilding stock block with new kit but did buy ADA head to get 180psi compression to stay with high octane fuel. Bought used Factory limited pipe and aftermarket k&n filters and new boyessen reeds. Other than those mods, motor will be stock.

Will be rebuilding carbs again but wanted to dial in what springs to use from the kit and what pop-off setting should be (I understand that it will vary slightly from ski to ski).

Group K recommends keeping stock jets, but I’m curious what others might have used?

I want out of the hole “grunt” as I’m 46 and the high-speed falls “suck”!!!

Appreciate Some feedback

What's your carb setup looking like? what pipe are you running? Any other mods?
Carbs are 40mm Mikunis with 147.5 and 75 stock jets. Complete new rebuild on carbs with new 1.5 needle and seat. Running used Factory limited pipe that I just bought - looks to be in good shape and screws work fine. Should have the the motor parts back in a month For reassembly.

I did remove the butterflies as well.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I had to rejet mine after removing the trumpets (or whatever the hell they are called) from the stock airbox. I can't imagine you'd be able to run stock jets between using the open air filters and new pipe.

I’m running 80 pilot and 152.5 main jets in mine with stock sized needle and seats. No issues for four seasons. This is with the Factory Limited pipe and Tau Ceti flame arrestors. Jetting is on Factory Pipes web site. I just went a little fatter on top for safety sake.
