    Jacob's 550 handling tricks/hacks

Read an article somewhere that mentioned one of jacob's race 550s had the nose reinforced/filled with resin...does anyone have an idea how much was added and how they would have done that without the thing catching fire while it cured?! Adding ballast weight is nothing new obviously but having...

    Yuasa agm battery

Great option for a superjet and better than the off the shelf ones from batteries plus. Has 310cca, includes the needed spacer and new hardware. Summit racing stocks them You do have to fill them with acid yourself but it is very easy and mess free

    Lowered hood air flow

This is mainly for race/wake chasing riders with superjets or sxr800...Does anyone with a/m lowered hoods add 1"+ holes at the front of the hood to increase airflow? similar to the stock sj hood which has 3 holes on the right side. Is this worth it for feeding the carbs more air and keeping...

    Factory b pipe manifold/headpipe I.d.

Have heard the newer b pipes have a larger i.d. manifold and headpipe. Can anyone take a caliper to measure one that's fairly new and unmodified to confirm that? My older b pipe, probably from the late 90s or early 2000s measures exactly 44mm

    Carbon hood restoration

Got this super light race hood I'm restoring for a client, it's crazy how photos can hide the true condition of parts! This thing is in pretty rough shape.

    Friendly reminder about crank seals

Make sure when you're assembling the bottom end of a 701 to apply grease to the crank seals to help keep them lubricated . This step is often missed, there was no mention of it on the tech faq thread about engine assembly If they aren't greased they wear out prematurely.

    R&d rev2 exh questions

Would it be wise to run one of the 3 water injection points constantly flowing and use ecwi on the others. If it helps preserve the motor I would accept the slight loss of rpm Also does anyone have a source for couplers for this pipe that is better than oe? The best option I have found is...

    Total loss ignition question

Stupid question. If a t/l system was ran for a time with a pickup that had a grounding issue, could this cause any damage to the t/l cdi box? Would assume that the pickup would just open circuit and not fry anything. knowledable individuals please help!

    Dry pipe hood insert

So I am making a molded fiberglass bubble to make a up and over style pipe fit under an a/m hood. Not sure the brand of the hood, the hood isn't mine, helping a friend out. I am following a method I saw on YouTube since I have not attempted mold making before. Made some templates for the...

    Engine temp gauge

Maybe overkill for most riders but how feasible would it be to make some sort of inline temp sender/dash mounted gauge or warning light? What would be the bet way to attach to the engine? some sort of inline brass fitting off the npt cooling line port on a/m 701 cyl head?

    1/4" water injection lines

What's everyone using out there for 1/4" cooling line? I saw this high temp vacuum line from hps that might work. 13 bucks for 5 ft. Liked the fact you can get clear line. Also thought about just using cheap clear blue 1/4" fuel line that's used on jr. Dragsters, 7$ for 10 feet. Trying to...

    Gp800 motor in a sj

So I've been looking into this concept as a possible future build as a high power buoy race motor with stock-ish reliability. I would look to run a Lamey cylinder but I'm undecided about running a billet cylinder wide open due to heat issues... I'm aware that wdk does offer a lot of parts for...

New racing class pro watercross superstock ski

Just announced last week, rules are posted on the pwx site. They are calling it a stepping stone to the gp class. It's basically a 4 stroke stand up class mixed with 1100 two strokes with bolt ons, using "approved" aftermarket hulls. The list of hulls has not been released yet.
