I'm wondering what you mean about opening up the intake. What is there to open up?

I made the openings on the carbs match and I left the small cap off of the top. I shaved back some of the plastic on the inner part where it is open. Maybe I exaggerated a bit but I think it is a good setup to keep water out.

You have done all the rights airbox mods(except cap can go back on), run only single screens, most people don't realize how much the stock setup holds a 760 back

I think the 760 intake is pretty good. I'll take it off and run with open carbs just to see. I am running the single screens. My thoughts are (with total fuel flow at 247.5 at 2700 ft elevation) that my setup is making really good power. I think I must have nailed it with my porting or HPE's cylinder porting. It runs really strong, seems it is punching above its weight class a bit.

When I have tried running without the top of the "airbox" it made a huge difference in tuning (much leaner), I'm not so sure that translates to a huge difference in power though.

I am looking for some starting specs for an engine I am building using a wetjet 46mm setup. Looking at the jetting that works in this thread for a single 46 it seems that 120/150 may be a decent starting point, I however just cracked it open and its 107.5/150 1.5ns unless I read the text wrong, its really small. Considering its getting a new top end should I go fatter than 120/150 to ensure I dont run lean during break in? Also, the 1.5 ns seems a bit low but I dont know poo about jetting.

The Wetjet 46mm setup likes a bit of bottom jetting. Try;

150m
135p
2.0ns
80g spring
1 turn on both screws

This is just for starting points. This is also for a B-Pipe limited so not sure how the sizzler will differ. You may need to change the bottom pilot and popoff +/-.

I just got wetjet 61x in my superjet tuned real well. Strong bottom and great mid and top with a type 4 dry pipe, little different than a wet pipe but I ended up

145 main but 150 wouldn’t hurt
135 pilot
2.5 n/s with 115 gram spring( think I should try an 80 gram spring yet)
Bottom screw 1.5 turns
Top screw 2.0 turns

I just got wetjet 61x in my superjet tuned real well. Strong bottom and great mid and top with a type 4 dry pipe, little different than a wet pipe but I ended up

145 main but 150 wouldn’t hurt
135 pilot
2.5 n/s with 115 gram spring( think I should try an 80 gram spring yet)
Bottom screw 1.5 turns
Top screw 2.0 turns


No don't go with a 80g on a 2.5ns. Go with 140P and 150M Your screws are too far opened w current jetting.

Only reason I wanted to try it was because it came with those pop off settings stock I think, I don’t disagree with a bigger jet because I started at 125 low, had a lean hesitation, now I’m where I’m at now and it’s much better. Thanks for the tip

SBN46 come with 2.5ns/80g per Mikuni. I guess you could try it, but 14psi pop is a very low value. Make sure you check for dribbling from the bombsight. It might be better suited to raise your pilot than it would be to lower your popoff.

If the pilot jet is to large (example 130) would going to 120 reduce or eliminate the smoky exhaust I have at slow speed (in no-wake zone)?

I would start with turning your screws in a half turn. If performance gets better go to a 125, then if needed drop to a 120.

TPE 964 jetting recommendations with blackjack 46's and pfp dry pipe? Art wasn't super sure and was wondering if anybody had any hands on advice with any similar setups, thanks.

There’s a recent thread about this in the general section on setting up a 760 with b pipe, I think we decided start at 125 low and 115 high 24 psi pop off
