I really hope it was not anyone in our PWC community at pismo that did it, but a gas can was stolen out of the back of my friends pickup. I had to leave sunday morning so I left my buddy geoff a full tank of gas. He said he put in that back of his Black F250 and put a strap around it so it wouldn't float around the bed of the truck. He arrived at the beach and was away from his truck for most of the day due to watching the contest. He said when he went back to his truck in the middle of the day he saw that some one didn't even unattatch the strap the straight cut it and jacked the gas tank. That is :bs2: both he and I felt like :shooter3: the crap out of who ever did. I hope they put in their car b/c it was already pre mixed.

Sorry to hear this - we had all sorts of valuables out and it could have easily been the 20 gallons of race fuel I brought as well...which was unmixed and still sealed inthe can.
Unfortunately, when you get 65,000 people on a public beach, there's bound to be a few dirtbags in the bunch.

I don't think that little bit of oil would even slow a car down at all. would it? That is why I write in big letters PRE-MIX on my can so maybe someone not in the know would pass on some funked up gas. maybe I should write biodiesel or kerosene on it instead. I don't think too many people use it in Fla.

Maybe you should write "bad gas" on the cans you leave alone. that might make a theif think twice

Psh, I run premix through my car all the time. It could care less.

mixed fuel will not damage the vehicle in short term. It will eventually cause the CC to fail as the heat built up with the residual oil in the exhaust burns up the core.

Write "Diesel" on in...then either way they're f&^%ed. Most don't want it but those that do....boom! :salook:

Do you use castor benol?
If you do just smell cars as they drive by and you might find the thief.

I like the idea of writing diesel or bad gas on the can. Or maybe something like low octane Mexican gas for you west coast guys.
I always pee in one gas can and then don't lock it up.
Suckas!!

I wondered why my truck smelled funny.

That sucks man. I lock everything down when I'm in California. It's not like the Oregon Coast where you can leave your beach house unlocked and your truck unlocked and nothing grows legs.

Put real Diesel in a normal gas gan, leave it mixed with the others, and hope they pour it into their car as well.

Seriously, it's more a California thing. I mean that more as an observation than a slam. You notice the difference just driving through and statistics bear that out (even adjusted for population).
I bet that beach cart got swallowed up or borrowed and someone didn't realize until too late it wasn't theirs. A lot of 'em look alike. Whose was it? I know mine was all over that beach and it came back.
I did accidently leave my truck unlocked all night at Pismo (well not really, the back seat was being "used" for a bit) but nothing happened. Fog was pretty thick though!
Maybe I just have a bad taste for Kalifornia. Too many run-ins with law enforcement there. I got hassled by them Sunday morning too, but of course nothing happened. If I had my way we'd extend that border fence all along the Colorado River! :)
what are you doin leavin gas around anyway? that stuffs as good as gold now adays:boggled:

Honestly, I don't know. Someone posted that comment in my Blowsion Beach Party thread. I don't know if it got found.
I just had to throw that out there for good measure. :fingersx:

It didn't. Someone may have unintentionally loaded it up thinking it was their own (possible I guess), but would eventually have noticed it wasn't. Sucks, but it was never returned.:bs2:

That's not what I heard. I think "nothing happened" means nothing was stolen out of the truck!
