One of our legends and and stand up mentors, Larry Rippenkroeger was critically injured Friday night on the set of die hard 4.
He is now stable and doing much better.
The list, short version, compound fractures on both arms, punctured lungs, broken ribs, fractured skull, dislocated fingers, bad bad bad,, they fixed his arms Saturday and to date has not swelled up at all in the head.. that's the main thing,, one more day without any swelling and he should be fine,,,, just a long road to recovery... He fell from 25 feet - head first after missing a grab for stability , He was trying too safety of an area for Bruce Willis (He doubles Bruce) to get down at one of those outside fire escapes in there next shot ( no big deal) when he slipped- and headed for the concrete ---------..

He will be back, were lucky... everyday , everyday, stop and smell the flowers..

He is in the company of family , girlfriend and friends at < california medical center in down town Los Angeles ----

He is here for a while, its the newest trama 1 center in the Los Angeles area, so its worked well for his needs. He is in ICU and that's a no floral floor, so wait if you feel to send anything......

I am very happy to hear he is awake and especially able to go to the bathroom on his own. Believe it or not the worst part of a traumatic brain or spinal cord injury is the complications with going to the bathroom. I speak from experience. It is soo good he avoided serious brain trauma.

Larry Rippenkroeger to return to movie work:hail:

May 23, 2007

The IJSBA is very pleased to bring you this news from John Chadwell, author of the coming movie: Hunt of the Sea Wolves (http://huntoftheseawolves.net/blog/).

Famed Stuntman, Larry Rippenkroeger, Joins “Hunt of the Sea Wolves” as Stunt Coordinator

Famed Hollywood stuntman, Larry Rippenkroeger, has signed on as stunt coordinator for “Hunt of the Sea Wolves,” written by John Chadwell and under development at Feverpitch Pictures.

LarryRippenkroeger, a four-time world champion Jet Ski racer, broke into stunt work in 1995 with Waterword, starring Kevin Costner. He parlayed that into doubling as Costner’s character, Mariner, in Universal Studio’s Waterworld Stunt Show, as he continued to work both as a stuntman and actor in 45 films.

His credits include: Dante’s Peak (1997), Godzilla (1998), The Patriot (2000), The Matrix Reloaded (2003), The Whole Ten Yards (2004 when he first doubled for Bruce Willis), Hostage (2005, again doubling for Willis), The Longest Yard (2005), Live Free or Die Hard (2007, another stint at doubling for Willis) and Iron Man, now filming.

Films and TV series he appeared as an actor include Smoke Jumpers (1996), Profiler (1997), The X-Files (1998), CSI Miami (2003) and Crazy (2006).

He is stunt double for Bruce Willis and has also doubled for Vin Diesel, Treat Williams and James Caan on the Las Vegas series. Willis recently presented Rippenkroeger the Taurus Foundation Award at the 2007 Taurus World Stunt Awards.

Rippenkroeger was severely injured during filming of Willis’ new film, Live Free or Die Hard, but is already on the mend and back at work on Iron Man.
