View Full Version : Questions for event promoter

I have a few questions for the event............

Schedule? Some people have a few other things they are accomplishing for the weekend and have fans/sponsors coming in to view the event.

Entry forms for riders? These are usually completed before the event to have a smooth flowing morning that doesn't require paperwork that could of been completed before hand.

Entry Fees?

You may be misunderstanding a few things about Pismo. The competition is an invitation only event, and the invited riders already know who they are.

And the beach party is a freeride, nothing to fill out as far as I know. It's just a bunch of people getting together to ride/hang out.

ray barre is in the event; he plans on racing in the worcs race and would like to know the f.s.s. schedule.

Ah, too many names to remember who's in/who's not.

Ray - Joe is already on site, and I just saw this. You brought up some valid points, I have a decent idea of what's happenng when at the competition, but nothing I feel confident enough to set in stone for you.

I'll check with Joe and see what he has to say and post back - I may not have an answer for you until Monday though.

Thanks,
Lisa

Lisa that great... 4 days before an event is perfect timing to release a schedule......Lets see how she rolls...........................

I've got a call into him now. You will not be competing until Sunday - there will be exhibition runs on Saturday for the general public, but as far as I know, you won't be required to ride that day.

Hope this info is helpful. I'll post just as soon as I hear from Joe.

PS: Don't shoot me - I'm just the messenger.

lisa is correct, looks like the contest will be run on sunday with practice starting early sat morn. it will be run in a comp format with two to three riders at a time. if riders dont want to practise it is ok. but they need to check in, and sign waivers.
thanks, joe

Sounds great so we have the schedule nailed down........what about an entry fee? Or Winnings Purse and how it will be distributed.

Eddie,
Questions and answers hopefully will make the event run smoother. Joe has enough on his plate, so I am making sure we have a few basic things covered to inform the riders who are traveling to the event. Hopefully some of these things will prevent us from being part of a unorganized/slow paced show like most Jet Ski events are famous for. If the Jet Ski industry wants to bring sponsors in then some of these things should be considered.

So if you or anybody else has questions for Joe you should address them.

All valid input/questions gang....I just got Joe on the phone, so here's his response to your questions:

Who is sanctioning the event?
This is a stand-alone event, but the IJSBA and IFWA have offered support and have been tremendously helpful in assisting with administrative efforts.

What is the purse?
The total purse should be $2,100.00

What is the structure or the comp?
It's head-to-head comp.. with the first round being double illimination. After that it's sudden death. There's will be 7-10 minute long heats. The first round will be 8 heats, with the 8 losers then competing for 4 remaining positions, which will make the second round 12 riders...that will work to a three rider main event.

How many rounds?
See above

What time does it start?
Practice will be begin at 7:30 on Saturday, and in between 11 & 12 will be formatted similar to the event (read: exhibition for general public with announcing). Competition starts at 7:30 Sunday(weather/conditions permitting)

Entry fees? $150.00

Awards ceremony?
On the beach immediately following final round (like Oceanside events) with an after party TBA

Hope that helps,
LP
