I got a little idea for the guys or girls who want to step it up this year... We will do a little ride off and see who can complete a clean backy first... we'll call it the "CHERRY BUSTER"....

It's time to put up and STFU, cause the :bs2: stops here.... if you think you are ready, man up ...

rules:

no more than one flip completed in the surf or off wake in your lifetime.
6 riders, 10 min. session
you must at the least nose it in and remain on the ski no inverted sub landing will count
over-rotated landings will count as completed flips. no let goes will count though. you must remain on the skiif you are interested in this let me know via PM.

I will arrange for a sponsor to give some goodies for the winner... maybe a sticker too...

That was the backflip for bewbies at Jersey last year, nobody did it though, conditions just didn't warrant (too big for first-timers on Sat and too small on Sun).

Sounds perfect, sign me up! Although, I plan on flipping before then, like this weekend when the Delta Queen goes through.

As of now I have 3 qualified rescue personel w/ skis and sleds...(on and off duty Beach Patrol) I do not have any problem w/ you heading out and helping them pete... the more eyes we have watching, the better... I say we have the three rescue boats and three watchers/judges to keep everyone honest and safe... safety is the main concern here... we want carnage, but no broken people...

At clinics this year with some partial newbies, I took a long tie down strap, cut in in peices and started puting them on all the guys skis, they were Thule' rack straps, and they have held all year, I have a whole box, and will bring a ton, precut, so we can jsut tie them on peeps skis ! :biggthumpup:

I remember last Nov. when, Me, Nick, Paul, Bogey, and Ratti all went up for the same wave, it was like whiplash, looking back and forth to make sure there was a safe distance.... :bigeyes: And those are all experienced Backflippers ! :biggthumpup:

If you want to make more and give them out to everyone who COMLPETES a backy, that's fine, but I would rather not. kinda makes it not worth anything IMO... I definately don't want to see it on someones boat who hasn't completed one, or tried....

We are gonna leave the rounds the way they are now and if more people want to add their names to the list, i will, because I'm sure some people won't show, or will not be up to it for whatever reason. The odds just work that way...

I wouldn't think that would be fair either... this is for one completed flip or less... I did that becuase saki did one like 2 years ago, and I don't really count that, since it was only one. failed attmpts don't make you better, actually they may make you more tenative...

btw - not all copmpetitons are fair. You may go out be in the right place and a wave jacks up right in front of you and BAM, there it is... this is as much about chance ans it is skill or balls... just look for where the waves are breaking good and shoot for them as soon as you get out there...

Another thing... I spoke to Beach Patrol saturday and they will have 3 rescue boats in the water for the comp. all w/ qulified rescue personel. we will also have 3 additional judges along w/ the rescue people judging...

I like the motivational factor that you need to get it done first to get claim it for your heat. At least I have done one attempt and know I lived through it. It really didn't even hurt but I swear I pooped my wet suit when I rolled of the wave as it was jacking up. It is so hard to point it at a wave that is about to suck you over backwards. I just freaks you out as you head at it.
