This news is a few months old, but I haven't seen anything posted on here yet, so here ya go...

Yamaha have produced a new SuperJet RR which they hope will make them competitive in racing again. For some time Kawasaki, and now Hydrospace have ruled the roost in stand-up racing, leaving Yamaha to compete unchallenged in the freestyle events. But Yamaha have set out to change all that with this new RR version.
It can be assumed that it will use a ported 760cc engine, 44mm carbs, and a PRO-Tec Mach 1 race pipe and is expected to "be competitive". Like the ordinary Rius replica that preceded it, it will probably come with a host of bolt-on goodies aimed at making it faster and handle better. Estimated top speed is said to be around 55mph. It is expected to have a limited run of around 100 units in order for it to be homologated for racing use.
There are no prices or any definite specs at the moment, but keep an eye on www.jetskier.xo.us for the full SP.

I will post a pic when I get back to the house.

I've seen these, but they date back to early this year. But it looks like it might just be in Europe?

You want braaaap and that 2 stroke smell. You dont want it to sound like a street bike.

that wouldnt be worth a crap.

Really?

I think the folks at Hydrospace might disagree.

I thought it wasn't a secret anymore after polaris proved that HP isnt what wins races... It's still a superjet, its not going to be worth a crap... I agree with shonuff, give us the 4 stroke YAM/KAW!

Just remember, 4 strokes need forced induction(super or turbo) to make them even worthwhile.

A 4 stroke would be a turd for freestyle. I saw the Hydro-space in the surf. It sucked. Didn't have the bottom end needed for freestyle or freeriding. It was fast as hell on the top end. Thats not what I want though. Plus, I don't want to pay 10 grand for a ski slower than mine that weighs more.

I kinda like the new ski. At least the graphics....but I'm still in love with my squarenose.

I'd buy a lightweight 4 stroke - a few years after they come out & aftermarket parts are available.:sneaky: Mostly big bore kits, as otherwise there won't be as much power increase available to us as on a 2 stroke.

In the meantime, there's no substitute for the catapult feeling of a big bore 61X coming on the pipe...:woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot:

I don't see this limited edition. Only BNG's:

It must be another Euro-only model.

does it have 44s on it as they are a 760
or did they leave the stock 38s on it

the humungus
12-07-2006, 03:33 AM
Yeah they left the 38s on and rejetted them (80 lowspeed 130highspeed) but to be honest the ski felt restricted on that setup, so went to brian at n&c in uk and recomended going to 75/135 and a 95g popoff spring, it made a differance but still wasnt right so stuck on a set of protec taperbored 46s and now it rips :).
