Have him meet you at a public place....probably doesn't want you to know where he lives.

Tell him you'll pick it up only.
He's trying to gouge you on shipping.

Mark if he has absolutly good feedback send him the 7 bucks , some guys absolutly hate to schedule a pick-up only to have to reschedule another day when the guy did not show up, ! ive been there ! mabe he has 7 kids ??? you dont know, mabe he doesent want to advertise his house to strangers ????? and on the other hand sending via postage is extremly time convenient. give him the benifit of the doubt if he has good feedback and longevity on ebay !!! however if you smell a rat then avoid the deal ! you can get screwed just as easily by picking it up too because you wont be able to test it for any length of time ! IMO ! ! good luck
I do seaches for things local to my area, but always ask if pickup is ok before bidding. Had a couple of sellers say no, but the majority say its fine!
Maybe he just does not want to meet the 'thong bandit'??

I would not deal with him then. I had a Ebay memeber here in Havasu that had some stuff for sale on Ebay and I emailed him and asked him if I won a auction or 2 of his would he let me pick up the parts and save shipping charges. She said nope. So I sent back another email basically giving them a bit of shiat. Then she sent me back a nasty email saying that i was a disgrace to ebay, etc. It was way worse than the email i sent her.
Some people are just plain wierd about that stuff and its their right to be, but I will not deal with them.
well i would deal with him but i smell rat when he wants only a money order for payment..no other forms..money order only

for me if you wanna drive to my shop to pick up your goods it is ok with me but at my conveniance. not when you are ready for it. also I shipp Mon- Fri and some time on Sat if customer need it fast.
I had a couple guy that say they will come and pick up their item at such of time and dont make it or call to let me know not to wait for them and then showed way late at my shop and told the guy next door that I cant keep up with an appointment for there stuff. well I go home at 4:30 and if you show up after that. then to bad. hope they are reading this.

Just looked at the auction. (I think it was the right one.) He may have concern about pick-up since you are a new user. However, he does list that he takes paypal as payment. What a predicament!

if the auction says he takes Paypal - he must accept your paypal payment by Ebay rules or you can report him.
