The weather was excellent, just perfect.

I didn't get a count, but I'd say 40-50 skis?

Joe Eckert, Mike Hoffman, Michael Ratti, and more giving freestyle performances was perfect. (Ratti on a pink ski, who would have thought?!)

The floating weeds were the worst I've ever seen. Rosie and I got caught up at the same time and had to plan our escape from the mess.

Today was almost a perfect FSF to me.

have to agree, great weather. had boats that made some great wake, but didn't run the whole time so you had a good amount of flatwater too. didn't seem overcrowded like it did last yr either. tons of fun.

yea, great weekend. Perfect except for ipperwash being so flat.. considering they called for rain both days you can't complain too much.
I figure the turn out sunday was slightly lower than last year just because it was 2 days and a buch of ca folks figured one was enough..

Yes, great turnout, especially when you consider the forecasted weather, which never happened. We had a great time!!

Some problems on the return to the ramp, as shallow, ankle deep water beached a couple boats. I mean this was between a 1/2 to a mile off shore on Lake Erie. We spent a while helping get one of the boats dislodged on the sand bar. Big thanks to Bill Karl for the help with the get boat. Kind of funny watching the Kawasaki SXR pulling a boat thru the sand with a bunch of people pushing. This shallow water was the cause of all the seaweed.

We were cold, exhusted and out of gas on the return to dock, so we could not help the other boat beach on the sand. I saw the Water rescue boat go out and help.

next year we need to look at that deepth map near the nice smelling bathrooms.

will post pics soon!!

it was a good day to ride, but I was in a foul mood and turned into an a$$hole right from the outset. a series of mechanicals on both skis and me getting irritated by it all...it just wasnt a good day for me.

I want to apologize to everyone for being such a dick.

Thanks to all who came and let me ride their skis. I am now almost totally convinced I have to give up on the Kawi.

It was great to see everyone again at Ipperwash, I enjoyed myself, despite the flat water and non-running boat.
I had a great time talking to everyone again, and a HUGE thanks to Steve and his wife for taking us back to his place and going out of his way to help me with my ski, not to mention the pizza. :hail: You couldnt ask to hang out with a better group of people, its truly awesome. Im just sorry I couldn't make the Hot Hole, next year Ill be back!

Thanks again Steve, and everyone else who offered to let me ride their ski, Smitty, D Roc, Adam, just to name a few...

If I get my ski going right anytime soon, Ill have to head up there for waves this year, if not, next year for sure!

Adam, post up that gig of video you recorded after you edit it:biggthumpup: Kingnothing where were you? i didn't know that you were in the crowd either.:banghead: you had the superjet and the sxr in the back of your truck with the box strapped to it?

09-25-2006, 09:17 PM
wow, how bad is it? i'm sure you can have it welded.

Ill have pics wed night on the damage(some ppl have it on video already). Basically, the pipe was dented and welded near the headpipe side of the bpipe and cracked along the regular weld where there is about a half inch crack of aluminum just hanging there.

Thanks to beer cans and duct tape, I was able to make it back to the ramp without being stranded. A great thanks to those who helped me get back and steve(thanks for the pizza, trying to help me tune my boat, and showing me your part whore stash)!!!!!!!

I had a great time at Ipperwash, good to meet lots. I want to freestyle now, no more X-2, or maybe just a little less.

Had my battery tray break loose (thanks for the superjet screws!!!) and my bilge crapped out... All in all, not bad..... After looking the ski over, I broke some of the seat brackets and the steering link balljoint part was nearly torn out of my steering arm. I think that's the last for this girl for the season.

Love the skis, love the hard work, love the inspiration.

I've got about 10 pics from the event, nothing in particular, just generic stuff.
Lemme know if anyone wants them :)

Man, glad you guys didn't jump off that bridge, cause the water was down like 4 or 5 feet and it might have only been a couple feet deep or less. Like I said earlier a bunch of boats and jet ski got stuck in ankle deep water way out in the lake. Does anyone know if they got the sea doo jet boat out. It was way stuck, when we finally got the other boat out.

I have no idea. I'm guessing that happened before we left because you were at the ramp while we were loading up and Rosie pulled up then too. I figure we would have seen the boats while on the way back but I don't remember seeing them, though my eyes were on the lookout for weeds and nothing else.

Ya, we got up there and decided that we didn't know how deep it was or if there was anything under the water, so we aborted. also, nobody was watching so whats the point in hurting yourself if no one is there to witness it. LOL

I figured it was down about 1 foot, 1.5 tops based on the usual water line.
The lake is shallow as crap around there anyway so a foot is a big deal.

I was lucky on the way out there was a flock of gulls *standing* on that sand bar.. what boat got stuck?

ballen
09-26-2006, 06:23 PM
it was my first year going.... I had a great time and met a few new people.

the most amusing part was watching the "green 550 submarine" being towed like a torpedo to shore... we hung around and got it pumped out...

as far as I know, the last stuck boat was on its way back to the launch when we headed home.

Just got a e-mail from Kenny, who is friends with the Sea Doo boat owner.
I just heard the Rescue boat used 1500 feet of rope to tow out the Sea Doo boat off the sand bar. The Rescue crew said the water level changed a few feet in a few hours due to the wind direction change. I also have good news, the rescue boat dropped their normal rate from $800 to $300 for the towing of the sea doo boat.

Hey, guys. I had a blast at FSF6, and I got some footage that I'm going through.

I'm so stupid though......right at the start when I got out on the
boat to film, Joe Eckert and Ratti were tearing it up, and then
the boats started the double up wake. So I was filming my butt off.

Then I get home to capture the video, and when it gets to the part
where all of that took place, all I see is me filming the bottom of
the boat and talking. Then the camera raises up to begin filming and....
it jumps ahead to about 10 minutes later!!! WTF???

I had hit the record button by accident while just standing on the boat,
then I raised it up to film and PAUSED it. I never even noticed because
my head was like a swivel watching both sides of the boat for incoming
skiers. SON OF A B____.

Somewhere along the way I got turned around and was actually recording, but I was SO mad. I know I missed some good stuff.

I do have some good shots (Steve, I did get you backflipping off the
double-up wake). I'll get that posted up, maybe this weekend.
Editing video can be time consuming.

SuperJett did the SAME thing while taping me. I have lots of footage
of sand which should have been footage of me rolling his ski. :frown:

Damn new camcorder......It's three days later and I'm STILL mad about that.

I enjoyed meeting all the riders and ridding the boat wakes and when the water got flat It got really flat and that's fun too!!

CG thanks for the ride on the Polaris 800... good work That's a winner for sure
and Darren's ski was hitting well too

IT's so cool to try other set up's Thanks again guys Would have liked to try some rolls on them. but I dont like to ride others like that. I hate for something to happen while I am on them

The sand bars and seaweed were crazy so Eckert and I grabbed a whole hand full of throttle and skipped across the chop drag racing all the way to the boat ramps Keith and steph were right there on there stockers spitting seaweed all the way

It was cool to see all the guys trying big tricks
That also made for some cool wipe outs The no hander's were great and Nemo needs to Super glue his feet to the tray LOL :haha:

This was my First FSF I will be back for sure :woot:

Well I had a great time once again over the FSF weekend. Good to meet all my old friends again and make some new ones. Had a good turn out at Ipperwash and the hothole despite the weather predictions.

I've got to thank Kingnothing (Jamie) for the party Sat night and letting me crash there too.

Superjett good to see you again and thanks for organizing this once again.

Jetskee thanks for filming etc. I didn't even know that was you on the boat for the longest time. I'll be stoked if you did get me on tape doing a backflip off the double.

jetdude Glad I could help. I hate to see a rider lose most of a season to a problem I know I can fix.
Just let me know when you want to come riding up here and if I'm not working we'll go find some waves.

ang4th thanks for letting me ride your X-2. It was a blast and runs good.

CG Racing Chuck that is one nice ski you've built for yourself. Keep up the good work.

Also want to thank Niel and Brent (I hope I've got the names correct) for helping me get that green 440 running after it was sunk.

Here is a few pictures rosie took from freestylefest Monroe. I love that you can drive your car and trailer right on the beach in Canada!

Yeah!!! The directions we printed off of mapquest just ended on that road.... I thought :banghead: And then all of the sudden bam!:arms: you hit a beach!

I thought it was cool too... I have never driven on the beach, and it was practicly all our own.

Maybe I'll do like the big movie studios....I'll post a teaser trailer and not release the full movie for 8 months. :cool2:

I'm hoping I have time Sunday to get something put together and
posted. Stay tuned!

I would love to.....but I doubt it will happen. We will have a brand new baby, so a family trip is out. And there's no way I would get approval to go to Florida WITHOUT Amber. No way.:banghead:

By the way, the FSF6 video is just minutes away....I'm rendering right now.
Stay tuned. Don't go to bed yet!
