WOW! What an opportunity!

For the first time ever, the IJSBA offers the opportunity to have your team promo fully produced and aired from the tower for World Finals. IJSBA World Titlist and professional race announcer/voice-over artist, Dawn Dawson, will create and produce a promotional spot to feature your team and sponsors for $300. The offer is also open to World Finals sponsors/vendors.

Dawn Dawson holds several IJSBA World titles and has announced the World Finals for the last six years. She is a nationally recognized voice talent and owns an award winning advertising agency, Reflections Advertising.

The promos will be aired from the tower during the World Finals. This is an exclusive offer; no other pre-produced promos will be played.

To schedule your promo or for more information, please contact Dawn Dawson at 719-391-8559 or via email at dawnd2@adelphia.net.

I work for an ad agency - I wouldn't mind taking a stab at this. What are we looking for - an ad spot? 30 seconds? Any other details available?

 this site isn't going to reach any new members at WF. Anyone that's there either already knows about the X via PWCTodon't or doesn't give two shts about the internet anyway.

I'm agreeing here. Not sure if you guys have ever been to an event or not...but 80% of the time your not hearing nothing but loud noises and screams from the speakers. Everyone listens during freestyle, and other special events but in the middle of 23u465873665 race classes its just kinda filler.

That much $ would be better spent for banners to hang up....speakers are BLAHING all daya nd no one cares...but passing an image with a the simpl,e site URL will stick in your head and it last all day vs 30 seconds

On a only mildly related note.....
I signed up for the race at lake elsinore, but didn't race. I hanging around to watch the start of what would have been my race when Dave Arnold announced my name and said "Jerry Jones, one of the freeriders from the Oside Crew doin' a little racing today" That was pretty cool. :)

Never been to an event but what has been said makes sense. May not be worth $300 to promote to current members.

A banner sounds like a good idea though. Cheap and effective - and easier to see the URL than to try and visualize it or remember it via voice.

you would be shocked to learn how many do not know about the sites..................

Definitely, I understand that there are lots of people that don't know about the site....but my point is that those people are likely not internet geeks that would actually care anyway.

It might reach a few people.....sure. But I don't think it's worth the cash. A good ol' grass roots campaign would be more effective. Hell, the whole "promote your team for $300" sounds like a total sham anyway. The IJSBA is really reaching to pay for this event these days.

Actually Jerry - this was an exceptional offer Dawn Dawnson put togehter and obtained permission from the IJSBA to extend to the public. The IJSBA receives no funding from the proceeds.

Since Dawn has her own marketing firm and does professional voice over work, as well as announcing at at a wide array of other extreme sports events (super cross, motocross, etc.) and she's always up to do whatever she can to promote the sport, she thought it would be cool to do this for any riders, teams or vendors - basically at cost.

If you'e ever seen what goes into production of a professional marketing piece - one such as these, then you know $300.00 is a drop in the bucket. Dawn's certianly not going to get rich off this.

Your call, but I personally think it would be pretty cool. I'd donate.

Don't get your nickers in a bunch Lisa.

$300 may be a drop in a bucket for a professional marketing piece....I just don't think it's money well spent at WF. Maybe I'm just a pessimist.

In reality (with ad agencies), the writing of an ad spot would cost well into the thousands. The actual voiceover can be done for $300 or less, depending on the talent.

I had a recent project voiced-over for $400 - and it was a 10-minute presentation.

In this case though, it looks like she may be doing it live which is always nice. And I assume it would be done several times throughout the day?

Either way, I think a banner or other print/grassroots efforts would probably best promote the X. Any cool freebies are always good.

Who would be willing to take $300 worth of shirts/stickers and hand them out at Havasu?

Is it acceptable to be intoxicated while handing them out?

LisaLisa

Nah....I'd have to actually be wearing panties to get them in a bunch. ;)

Besides....How are you going to be walking around handing schwag out once I kick you in the baby-maker for those silly comments Jerry? LOL!

These spots will be fully produced in the studio by Dawn and her team (I have some samples if you'd like to check them out) and then played multiple times throughout the week from the tower.

Take it or leave it - I just thought it was a pretty cool idea with a generous offer attached.

Now THAT might be worth the cash. You had me thinking she'd just be reading some script at the event.
