there are threads about this on here somewhere. I don't want to comment on it since I never completed one before I sold my blaster.

ive searched and searched...apparently they arent named appropriately
:)
the threads i have found are about doing a BR on flat water...and only if it can be done, not how to do it

it's going to be just like a sj roll except keep your weight centered over the middle of the ski, not over the bars.

It seems to me that the people going past the norm on blasters are pretty tight lipped about it on these boards. BR's are certainly past the norm. The one thing I can personally tell you is that, unless you start nailing them right away, any un-reinforced hoods or hulls will not last long.

true.

blaster reinforcement is something you should search for too.

I wouldnt say rollers are tight lipped about it. Watch the tahiti freedrie, that is a very good video to see how to pull it off.
At the end of the day, with a B1, jumping off the side isnt going to help you roll, yes the ski might make it, doesnt count unless you are on it.
You have to commit, picture the roll in your mind, make your body follow the roll, and hold on....
My rolls arent the prettiest, Jerry (jetskier79) has amazing rolls, check out his website!
A decent 3-4 ft wave should be enough depending on how your ski hits, lay into the roll like you want to be upside down and let the ski come around for the rest of the roll. If you can get 3/4, you can get a plate to plate, just have to learn how the ski rolls, its very different to a SJ roll!

Get some video!!:thewave:

Trying is the first step!!

there will definitely be video...we take the gopros out everytime we ride, not to mention i ride oceanside with the o-side crew, but i try to steer clear of them so i dont get in their way.
i think my biggest question is steering into it and throttle

turn and hold the throttle wide open.

BR with a 16MM will be a cinch right? I don't think I will be doing any tricks on mine.

with a motor that big you might not have a choice. It'll probably flip and roll all by it's self.

turn and hold the throttle wide open.

i read the other thread that someone was kind enough to bump...it says to turn opposite then into the roll while on the throttle...im gonna give it a go, but i think im gonna make sure to put one of my old hoods on before i start practicing

You do that on a Standup, too. The idea is to get the nozzle all the way over to one side before you roll. That way you get the full travel of the nozzle to start the rotation (instead of only half the travel)

Don't be silly - if you want to roll, we'll get you rolling. I don't ride a blaster but once in a blue moon these days, but we'll still get you sorted.

Pretty good advice in this thread, Zimmy and Stuntbikemike are spot on. A lot of if just comes down to trying them. I want to really emphasize this point.

You have to commit, picture the roll in your mind, make your body follow the roll, and hold on....

Except for one part - your roll is going to follow your body, not the other way around. To help with this, make a point of initiating the roll, and then looking for the water over the other shoulder. This will keep you from stopping the roll before it starts.

It's really easy to start a roll, and look straight down at the water. This is the quickest way straight to a face plant. Your body, your rotation, it all hinges pretty primarily around where you are looking. If you roll left, and then immediately try to find the water over your right shoulder - you're going to find it, and in order for your body (and ski) to get there, it's gonna have to complete a rotation!

P.S. S-turns are for sissies.
