Can anyone see why my rear cylinder went BOOM ??
just a hint.. don't use cheap hoses for your pulse lines no matter how cool they look ! when the engine was hot it closed off much more..
what a pisser !!

Thats some good advice! I learned that the hard way as well!

I'm going to check mine right now!!!! And all of my friends!!!
I think were using the same line but I think I remember having to redo it cuz I thought it was to short.

ah nikad your problem is you have th epumps in and its a short tight radius
If you turn it so the pumps are out you get better throttle response as well as you can use your cheap nasty line
I know i am using the cheap nasty line as well

Thats exactly why I will only use stock fuel line due to its durability factor!!!!

Butch...was that your Lamey? Or "just" the Magoo 701?
Turn your carbs around.

its my new Jr's cylinder !! what the reason for turning around red tops or black jacks ?

Im not sure how bad it is yet.. i'm hoping just a piston then yes i can hone it and it's back together but if it needs a bore it will be a little while before its running again.. IT WILL BE RUNNING BEFORE MEXICO and pismo

It's supposed to be a little bit more powerful that way.

better throttle response

Thats how Pro-tec set up my carbs.
Better signal, hence better throttle response.
Remember Butch when i got the square back together about 6 moths ago, you asked me why i had my carbs backwards like that?

silly people.. i asked "why would i turn red tops or black jacks around" black jacks/red tops dont have the same circuitry as a normal carb.. the gas enters the throat via lots of little holes all the way around.. not from a spray bar..
or are you talking pulse signal to the fuel pump ?
my cylinder looks great !! just a hone/rings and its a runner !!

The throttle plates still open the same. I believe that has something to do with the better response, too.

ok fine.. i guess im a hard head.. im not going to turn the carbs around !! I am just going to lift them straight up.. then turn the ski around !! then reinstall them after drilling/taping a throttle cable holder... hahaha

It has nothing to do with more signal or better response. It's to move the vent hole in the cover away from the exhaust tube so it doesn't get covered up.(on a superjet)

its actually the way the throttle plate incovers the progression port hole
